“Bay of Islands Best Dive Shop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2014

I first found Dive North over Christmas when I did my Advance Open Water course with them. I have since been back over the Easter break to complete a few more specialty certification. They are well suited to handle all levels of divers and have the right gear/equipment to make your diving experience amazing. They are keen to get you a warm drink as soon as you are out of the water and have plenty of room on the boat for you to move around. The highlight of my last trip was the pancakes they cooked up on the way out in the morning. Being Canadian, I was quite impressed they had real Canadian maple syrup.

No need to look at other shops, book with Dive North!

The crew at DiveNorth really know their stuff. Being relatively new to diving they took me under their wing and i enjoyed the day and felt like I had been diving for years.

“Excellent staff make all the difference.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2014

We found this dive trip to be very professionally managed. The staff were happy and extremely helpful. They went out of their way to make our trip enjoyable. We appreciated the super thick wetsuits which we didn't know we needed and they didn't charge us to borrow. I would only say that the lunch could be better ie.a piece of lettuce on burger? And organisation in the morning could be better as we could have been sleeping instead of waiting there over an hour. Perhaps meet people at the boat?

Thank you for your review Mandy and your critique, it is very useful. You are right, we could add some lettuce / tomato etc to the BBQ lunch, it's typically been a Kiwi 'burger and snag' lunch but maybe it's time to upgrade it!

I'm sorry you had to wait in the morning, some divers do take longer to get kitted up (and it doesn't help if they arrive late) but as you had your own gear we could have met you later. We do meet some divers at the boat but on reflection as we lent you wet-suits it was probably just as well we met at the shop first.

Thank you again for your feedback, we look forward to seeing you again. Thanks Sue & Dave
