We originally booked two nights in the gipsy caravan but as soon as we arrived at the lodge we knew that we want to prolong our stay. Pagoda Lodge is nice and quite with good bath facilities and a very good equipped kitchen that everyone is able to use. The hosts are very friendly and helpful.

I found this place online while planning my NZ bike trip. It is as sweet as it looked. I stayed in the pear tree house. It was primitive, charming, and tiny and everything I needed. The grounds are gorgeous and the surroundings are stunning.

I've stayed at the Pagoda Lodge twice; once in the Safari Tent and once in the Jade Cottage. I also held my three-day wedding here, booking out the entire grounds and rooms for family and friends. Stephen was prompt, friendly, and fair in all of our many dealings. He let us have the run of the grounds and was most helpful during last minute stresses, running around Kerikeri fetching us cables for the chiller, helping string out lights, and many other things. Kathy has decorated all of the rooms beautifully, with an artistic eye and with lots of love and attention. The grounds are wonderful. All our guests felt very relaxed and found lots to do from the walks around Kerikeri, kayaking and swimming in the river, visiting the stunning waterfalls, but, most importantly, just chilling out. The shared toilets and showers were well kept and maintained. We had a dream stay and wedding there.

Room Tip: Ask for the Safari tent with the deck that juts out onto the river. Fantastic place to while away th...

So lovely staying in the gypsy van.. One night wasn't enough for us! We walked to rainbow falls and swam under and behind them, walked back to wharepuke for a delicious meal and returned to our van for a soak in the outside freestanding bath tub infused with fresh herbs and salts .. All under the stars on a balmy jan night. The owners were pretty gorgeous considering how exhausted they must have been after hosting a huge wedding the night before.. They welcomed us and made us feel right at home offering helpful tips. I loved how unique it all was.. With the small touches added. I loved the free range chickens and ducks. The view over the river and the romance of being outdoors but comfortably (indulgently so).. Get your zen on and Go there if you're sick of your run of the mill style accom..

The gypsy caravans are just sheds, you are only allowed to shower for 3 minutes early in the morning or between 7-9pm as the hot water is turned off throughout the day and for $130 a night you get the privilege of cleaning out the shed before you leave.

Loved the upgrade to a 2 bedroom cottage in the middle of nowhere! It was an amazing experience. We had lots of fun - no tv so lots of reading and games. Even if we hadn't been upgraded I think we have loved Pagoda Lodge itself anyway - it looked lovely.

We stayed on a cottage 10 minutes from the lodge, owned by the same couple. it was absolutly lovely, six adults stayed, we had a very nice relaxing time. The cottage was cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed. Definitely recommend it. It was a great base to see some of the area too. We did hope for more rain just so we had an excuse to sit at the cottage and read all day. Thanks.
