“A most incredible experience”

There is a fine line between being overbearing to your customers and being neglectful of your customers, the keepers of The Inn at Tabbs Creek understand and respect this. The owners, Greg and Lori were very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived, we received a tour of the area and were told to make ourselves at home. They were always there if we needed them and were very happy to help make suggestions for things we could do in the area. They were very down to earth, and interesting people. Greg is an excellent cook as well!!! I would suggest this B&B to anyone wanting a quiet vacation away from the hustle and bustle of city life, the location is very secluded and off the beaten path. This is perfect for couples who enjoy their privacy but also enjoy meeting new, fun couples from all over. All in all a wonderful place to vacation and we definitely will be going back! Also, do not be concerned about the Latex mattress pad, I am allergic but did not have any problems, they keep plenty barrier between you and the mattress.

Green Features: recycling, latex bed covers, was certified Eco-Friendly location, home grown vegetables or Whole Foods bought food.

I spent two nights at the Inn at Tabbs Creek while in Mathews on business. What a gem!

The innkeepers were away during my stay, but Lori's parent's- Pat & Clem, and her brother, David, were excellent hosts. From the moment I made the turn off the main road and saw the humorous sign to assure me that I was on the right road, to the second I caught a glimpse of the Inn down the lane...I knew I was going to love being here.

I stayed in the Tabbs Creek room, which is in the building across the gardens and pool from the main house. The bed was comfortable, and there is a small refrigerator and a Keurig coffee maker in the room, so I didn't have to go over to the main house for that first cup of coffee.

Spending time chatting with the other guests, and Pat & Clem was a highlight of the trip, and the sunsets were amazing! The breakfasts were delicious, and I loved the baked eggs with roasted red pepper sauce. Yummy!

The only thing negative I can say about my stay is that I was in the area on business and not for leisure, so I'm going back to the Inn at Tabbs Creek so I can enjoy all that it has to offer!!!

We had a perfect weekend getaway at the Inn at Tabbs Creek. The innkeepers were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We called to let them know we couldn't make it before midnight (we had gotten lost and had to re-arrange some other stops), and they were happy to leave the light on outside and the door open for us when we arrived.

They offered the guests a delicious breakfast together, as well as a wine and cheese social in the evening. The meals were wonderful (perfectly seasoned, not too heavy!) and the innkeepers were happy to accommodate us being vegetarians.

While we ate, we received some very helpful directions and suggestions for things to do in the area. The room also had a booklet with lists of local attractions and places to eat (complete with copies of the menus!).

One of the best things about this B&B is that it's secluded from traffic and other homes yet it's very quickly and easily accessible from the main road and town is only eight minutes away. It truly feels like a retreat.

We especially loved sitting on the pier at night watching fish chasing each other around in the water (there's a light under the water near the pier and you can see the fish silhouettes - we even saw a few shrimp swimming around, too). They also were happy to let us use the fire pit to make smores and socialize with the other guests after dark.

I was happy to see they maintain an organic garden on-site, and speaking of which their soap products are also organics.

Very friendly, hospitable place to stay - couldn't have been more pleased. My only regret is not staying longer, which we definitely will do next time we stay there!

Green Features: Great commitment to organic foods and soaps - you can see the organic garden on-site.

My husband & I spent only 1 night with Lori & Greg in their cozy B & B, but we felt at home instantly. They are a lovely and generous couple who obviously work very hard to put their guests' comfort first. We so enjoyed talking with them about their acquisition of the B & B and the area in which it's located. Indeed they gave us a tip about a seafood place in Topping that we would never have found without their suggestion.

We highly recommend cocktails on the dock while watching the magnificent sunset. Since we chose to eat in, we moved to the back tap room (my name for the room off the screened-in porch to enjoy our informal supper- all very relaxing.

The next morning, after a fabulous gourmet breakfast, we borrowed their bikes and rode to Bethel Beach, again upon the recommendation of our hosts. All in all this was a perfect little escape. We will recommend this B & B to all! Kathi & John C.

Room Tip: We stayed in the West Billups room and were the only occupants that evening, so there was little cha...

We just spent 3 lovely nights at the Inn and found that everything we hoped for in that setting was a reality! The owners, Lori and Greg, are amazing people--energetic, intelligent, generous, talented and genuinely engaged in what they are doing. Just wait until you have their delicious breakfasts! They are great fun to be with around the breakfast table, and Greg also happens to be a talented chef with an impressive resume and no arrogance about it. The Inn itself is historic and charmingly restored, and the setting couldn't be lovelier. Tabbs Creek is a branch off the East River, full of birds, fish, and gorgeous sunsets to enjoy from the dock. At least one night, ask for their picnic basket (yummy!) and eat as you enjoy the sunset. Superb! Even the novice kayaker can have a wonderful time paddling around in these waters. Mathews is a charming small town with multiple restaurants, an amazing library, and great support for the arts (with some amazing local artists). Do I really want to share this terrific place? Well, yeah, it would be too selfish to keep it secret!

Green Features: Lori and Greg are committed environmentalists. They serve lovely locally grown veggies and they even help raise oysters for the Chesapeake restoration group.

My husband and I just returned from a 3 night stay at the inn, and we loved it. It is right on the water. They provide fishing rods and tackle, so we fished off the pier. I caught 4 fish! The only thing you can hear at this inn is the silence of nature. Sunsets are absolutely stunning. We stayed in the West Billups Room and it was clean and roomy. Had his and hers sinks in the large bathroom. Bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets were sooooo soft. Breakfasts were delicious. Greg and Lori could not have been more accommodating. They even sat down with the guests one morning and had breakfast with us. I highly recommend this inn. We will definitely return in the future.
