“Great setting,good food, excellent value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2011

Set in Virginia Wine country the restaurant is beautifully located in rolling country side. Outdoor patio is just perfect for summer brunches and dinners. Sensibly priced food and wine along with attentive service make it a worthwhile 45 minute drive from Washington area.

“Planning my next reservation!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2011

Small, intimate and family run restaurant, a bend toward local product, with a five star chef at the helm—it makes for a fabulous event.
I'd suggest indulging all the way, and having all courses. And, whatever, you do, don't skip dessert.

“Had an excellent meal here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2011

Ate brunch on Sunday at the Grandale Farm Restaurant. Both entrees that were ordered were excellent, crab cake benedict which was a special and the polenta which was on the regular menu. Service was excellent and the restaurant is located in a very nice setting. Definitely would go back.

“Cozy, romantic and Different”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2011

We were on our way back from the Charles Town casino on a cold, rainy weekday and stopped at Grandale Farm for dinner. It really is a "farm" building but when we entered, we were pleased with the dining room ambiance. There was a fire in the fireplace, candles on the tables, tablecloths and soft subdued music. There was only one other couple seated (we were early) so the dining room was quiet and the view from the window was so relaxing. It was just what we needed on that cold rainy night.

The service was friendly and prompt and we were pleased with the creative menu selections which were what we were used to at upscale restaurants. Our meals and dessert were both excellent. We thought the prices were comparable to other restaurants of that type.

We will definitely come back when the weather is warmer -- there is seating on a big outdoor deck with twinkling lights and a magnificent view of the surrounding hills. The waitress also said that they change their menu each season so there will be more reasons to stop there on the way back from Charles Town in the future.

“Fun in the country...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 November 2010

My husband and I went there for our 15th anniversary dinner. The food is very good and they have a great selection of local wines. The drive is a very beautiful drive of the farm county in VA. We had a great time with great service. The only issue we did have was that there happened to be a wedding party having their reception there. There was about 17 people or so. We were all in the same quaint dining room. Often my husband and I had difficulty hearing each other and found it difficult to carry on a conversation. In the future, we will ask about big parties when we making a reservation. We will go back again. Great time!
