Attended a wedding at the Inn at Kelly's Ford the last weekend in October. The location is very scenic - think Virginia horse country. The ford was the sight of a small Civil War battle and there are nearby trails and historical markers. Stayed upstairs in the General Grant cottage. The room was nicely decorated, very spacious, and included a comfortable king-size bed. There was a stone fire place with plenty of wood. The bathroom was large and included a whirlpool tub. The television was dated and small . . . but we weren't there to watch television. The Inn included a formal dining area, a pub, and adjacent facilities for functions. The food in the pub was good but nothing special. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The ideal seasons for this place would be fall and spring, when you can enjoy being outside. A nice getaway for D.C.-area couples who want a change of scene without a long drive.

Thanks to the Inn, my family and I had a perfect Mother's Day! Our service in the dining room was handled with such grace and style, as it was filled to capacity! The food was once again amazing. There were ten of us, and the dining room manager handled our table. I had talked with her earlier in the week and she suggested we come at a later time to get quality service. We had a reservation at 6:00, and it was well worth the wait. Everything was terrific, and all the staff were so efficient. Thanks for making my Mother's Day a memorable event!

Had an very pleasent dinner here with my girl friend. It was so nice. The food was delicious! And I thought the layout of the bar area was so cool. You had to go downstairs and I was able to admire all the civil war history. Our server greeted us promptly and told us what items that were unavailable. (Pet peeve of mine)

Very nice place, will definitely be back soon!

I got a wonderful deal on Livingsocial for the inn. Two night stay with a restaurant credit and canoe/kayak/tube outing included for about $270. Couldn't believe our luck. Breakfast in the room included both days. We were in a beautiful suite, living area, huge fireplace, HUGE bathroom (big tub!) wonderful bed, free wifi. Seriously, I have never had this nice of a stay anywhere. We live in Fredericksburg VA and it was about an hour to drive there- serene, literally out in the middle of nowhere but a gorgeous property. It's a horse ranch (or next to one) and just heaven on earth. Go there!!!!
