As person who enjoys a good beer with quality food flavor I chose 1906 to seek both. They had great decor in a casual environment with very attentive staff. Good selection of IPA's and Pale Ale's.

This night they had a special appetizer of fresh garden peppers stuffed with pimento cheese and wrapped in bacon ... By far one of the best apps I have ever had. They provided a taste of the grits with the app....now I live in South Carolina....so I know a little about grits....this place knows way more than I.....they were amazing.

Great regular menu to choose from. You will find the chef here takes flavor seriously. Try it you will not be disappointed.

Stopped in with my wife for a late lunch. I had the Cubano with an IPA. She had mussels and a pear cider. The atmosphere is great. Especially the lighting, though the music (that day) detracted a little from the mood -not important. The food was FANTASTIC. Really top notch care was paid to prep of each ingredient, and it shows. Please visit this place if you pass through Roanoke. PS - Service is great too!

This great place was about 8 miles from hotel, right on Main Street, in town of Roanoke. Food was fresh, local and very tasty. Wait staff was very attentive and good. Moderate prices.

One of the best takes on the Cubano sandwich I've had in a while. Really good pulled pork, and tasty ham. Nice beer selection.

The food is amazing for an ale house....you just wouldn't think that they would have a great beer menu, full bar AND great food. Try the HUGE, tender and tasty short rib or the tempura scallops. YUM!
