Description: Serving great American food with a worldly flair, we’re open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 3pm for lunch and 5pm to 9pm for dinner. We also serve a lovely brunch on Sunday from 10am to 3pm and dinner from 5pm to 8pm. The atmosphere is at the same time elegant and casual. The richness and warmth of the hand-planed wood-paneled walls provides a comfortable dining experience that can be enjoyed equally in dressy-casual attire or hiking shorts. We are located in the heart of historic Sperryville, Virginia, 75 miles west of Washington D.C., at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We look forward to serving you soon!

We went there for dinner this past weekend and things were hit and miss. The lowlights were the service and the burger. The highlights were the soup and the atmosphere. Unfortunately the restaurant must have been short-staffed on Friday evening because the service was incredibly slow and inconsistent. While we could have overlooked this if the food was outstanding, we were not overly impressed by the food. The prices are quite high, so we were expecting to be impressed. Simply put, the burger we ordered was one of the worst burgers we've tried in the past ten years. The quality of meat was poor and the preparation was no better. While the rest of the food was good (not excellent), the burger and the service were enough to ensure that we won't return.

My husband and I were road tripping back from a week in Williamsburg and decided to head west to Luray Caverns and found this quaint resturant right on the corner for lunch on our way. Wonderful atmosphere, service was great and the food was amazing! The Flamin' Rooster sandwich was delish! This is the first review I have ever written and just had to share this wonderful find!

NOT a cheap place to eat, but the food is always great.

This 42-seat grill features quite a few cuts of beef, but be sure to keep an eye out for their tasty black bean soup (dinner menu), creative and tasty sides, eye-candy desserts and ample wine list. Note, you will definitely need a reservation and the Grille is closed on Mondays.

Decor is upscale casual lodge style with light wood paneling warming the dining room without being stuffy. Seating is flexible to accommodate parties of 2 - 12 (comfortably), lighting is tasteful and the night we visited, background music was cajun blues. Portions are average in size, prices are in line with mid-range Washington DC restaurants (about $50 for 2 meals, no wine, no dessert) and quality is good.

We asked them to modify their evening special for us and were accommodated with no problems, much to our delight. Kudos to the kitchen for making accommodations and for preparing meals so tasty we were left wishing for more. Service was pleasant and prompt and we left rather satisfied with the experience.

Hoping for a take out lunch of black bean soup and curried quinoa, we returned again Sunday but no luck. Sunday brings a lovely brunch menu, however, and we will certainly stop back next time we're in town.
