This was our third trip to the Inn, we have stayed about 20 nights at the Inn over the past 2 years. It is a wonderful place to stay and enjoy the entire area. At breakfast, Lillian and Jackie will become your friends and create an atmosphere where you will feel like family. As we did things throughout the area during the day, we always knew we would return to our "home" that evening.

Every thing is beautifully decorated and each room has items that relate to the history of the farm and the surrounding area. We highly recommend the inn, we love it so much we have already reserved 11 nights in fall of 2014.

We stayed here at the end of our holiday to Virginia and certainly feel that we saved the best to last. The Inn at Mount Vernon is so welcoming and relaxing and we especially loved the idea of the open kitchen in that you could call in there at any time of day or night and help yourself to a hot drink or a glass of wine to take up to either your room or one of the many porches to sit and relax. We stayed in the Brief Room which had it's own private entrance and porch where we would sit for an age just drinking in the beautiful countryside. It also had a lovely bathroom with a fantastic bath tub - highly recommended. However the Brief Room is located directly above the kitchen which meant we would wake every morning to the smells of bacon and pancakes and freshly brewed coffee wafting through the vents. There is very little chance of a lie in with those smells tempting you out of bed I can tell you! Lillian is great and made us feel very welcome, as did everyone we met. We decided to stay at Sperryville due to its close proximity to Shenandoah, however due to the Shutdown we were unable to visit the forest. However we were told about some great local trails which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Room Tip: The Brief House has a great bathroom and private entrance/porch, however you will have bruises getting in and out of one side of the bed as there isn't much room to move around.

Last month we stayed at the Inn at Mount Vernon for the fifth time since it opened. We are never disappointed with this place! The rooms are wonderful, the views are stunning and both Lilly and Jackie do a great job as inn keepers. This is by far our favorite place for a quick get away from the hustle and bustle of living/working inside the beltway.
We have stayed in the Queen's room, the Owner's suite and the cabin and all have been perfect.
Cannot wait to go back this fall!

Room Tip: All rooms are great. The Cabin is a good winter choice with a wood burning fireplace. The Queen's room is a great summer room with big windows and right by the side porch for sitting out and enjoying the weather.

This weekend getaway spot was perfect for us - exquisite landscape views, beautifully maintained historic building, very comfortable room, plenty to do in terms of hiking, walking, antiquing, but also space to unwind, read, and enjoy the peace. The interesting and congenial hosts are a pleasure too. We found this place by accident and absolutely plan to return.

The Inn at Mount Vernon is a relaxing, beautiful, and sparkling clean Inn a couple hours from DC. There a multiple things to do including riding bikes on the backroads and hiking in Shenandoah. The Inn is located on an organic farm, and Cliff will take you on a lovely tour to experience the sights and sounds of the working farm followed by a stop at the Headmaster's Pub which is also connected to an antique store. There is a farmer's breakfast made with local produce and meats from the farm. I would highly recommend the Inn at Mount Vernon Farm to anyone looking to get out of the city for a few days. It really is relaxing and beautiful.

Room Tip: The Brief room is wonderful with a claw foot tub in the bathroom.
