This is a wonderful old bed and breakfast that has been painstakingly restored by the current owners. The couple we met, who own the establishment, are truly dedicated to what they do. And, it shows. They take great care in preparing a spectacular yet laid back breakfast. Stay here with all the confidence that you will enjoy it. Rappahannock County is a beautiful part of the country and the Hopkins Ordinary is a great place from which to see it.

My husband and I attended a wedding at a nearby vineyard and our daughter was in the wedding. We traveled together (with our son-in-law) and the four of us were able to stay together in the Garden cottage. We each had our own bedrooms and enjoyed a full kitchen, living room and wonderful porch. Our cottage overlooked a flower and kitchen garden. Our favorite time was sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee, enjoying the quiet location, as we played with Buster, the innkeepers beautiful cat. Each morning Sherri set the table for breakfast while Kevin prepared the food (I'm sure Sherri helped cook too!). We were served a wonderful breakfast to start our day - what pampering! I would definately recommend this location and I hope we have an occasion to return and enjoy the hospitality at Hopkins Ordinary again. Thank you Kevin and Sherri!

The Hopkins Ordinary has beautifully appointed rooms, understated service, and excellent breakfasts. Hosts Kevin and Sherri were extremely helpful in recommending hikes, wineries to visit and making dinner reservations for us. The website was also great in helping me plan my weekend getaway.

We rented a separate house a few doors down from the Hopkins Ordinary that Kevin and Sherri also manage. We shared the house with two other couples, one of whom had a young child. The house, a lovingly renovated part old log structure, is very spacious and comfortable. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The kitchen is large and well furnished. The wifi signal was very strong; interesting current magazines abound. The house is ideally located on the main street, within walking distance of a couple of restaurants and some art galleries. An easy drive to the Shendandoah National Park.

Comfortable lodging in a small town with plenty to do nearby. Breakfast was a treat and the inkeepers go out of their way to make your stay pleasurable.
