“A nice special occasion restaurant”
Reviewed 5 March 2014

It's been a while since I've been here, but the last time we went was as good as the first. One wouldn't imagine the rustic log exterior hides a lovely seafood restaurant. The interior is quaint with a nice fireplace.

The food (the last time we went) ; do try the white crab soup...so yummy! For the price it will cost, it's a little odd having to get your salad from a salad bar, rather than being served a plated salad, but the rest of the meal will make up for it. As may be expected, seafood doesn't come cheaply, so this is definitely a place (for us at least) for special occasions.

“Seafood Delight”
Reviewed 4 March 2014 via mobile

The Log Cabin is expensive, but the food is usually very good. It is primarily a seafood restaurant, but there are a few other options. A limited menu that is done very well. Cozy, it is a great restaurants for couples. Sit by the fire and enjoy the quaint ambiance. We've also taken the whole family, but it feels more like a date night restaurant to me.

“A nice restaurant for Valentine's Day”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

As always the food was delicious. On Valentine's Day they add additional tables to handle the crowds and it takes away from the cozy atmosphere. Reservations are a necessity.

“What a disappointment!”
Reviewed 18 January 2014 via mobile

We made reservations for our Anniversary and looked forward to the date with much enthusiasm. We had already heard about the high prices so that didn't surprise us too much but the quality of the meal did not live up to the price. My husband had the Captains platter, mostly over fried and below average. I ordered the famous prime rib and splurged on the crab topping. I wish I'd taken a photo. The crab was dry chunks scattered over the steak. A foil wrapped baked potato and their famous broccoli casserole served in a little foil pie plate completed the meal. I think a low end steakhouse could have had a better presentation. The small salad bar was crispy fresh and quite good and we enjoyed the chocolate desert. When we walked out I commented that at least the meal for two was less than a famous breakfast place in New Orleans where we paid $180 for breakfast for two ;-)

“A seafood restaurant”
Reviewed 7 January 2014

The Log Cabin is renowned in Stafford County as one of the first really good restaurants in the area. Although the name doesn't imply it, this is a seafood restaurant. It is quaint and cozy, but the years have taken their toll on this place. The décor is dated and the staff is too. Service is lack-luster and the food is just average; all for a price that is expected of fine dining. This is not one of the places I would recommend in Stafford County, VA.
