My girlfriend and I had a great experience here! It was a perfect little getaway, not too far from Charlottesville but distant enough that we felt like we were getting a break from our everyday lives.
We had the eight-course tasting dinner, which was delicious. Alan was very welcoming and willing to accommodate my needs as a vegetarian. I was impressed with the menu's ambitious variety, and I can honestly say I was impressed with nearly all of it. The wine pairings were also very nice. Even though I still felt pretty full, breakfast the next morning was also really tasty.
We stayed in the Jefferson Room. The fireplace was a really romantic touch, and we felt very comfortable and relaxed. I'd definitely recommend The Lafayette Inn, as a good getaway place or maybe even for a traveler passing through CVille looking for more of a quaint, comfortable inn with a personal touch.
