Lafayette Inn is a romantic, cozy inn with a friendly and very accomodating staff. Having returned from an area wedding where the food was inedible and finding the Lafayette kitchen closed, the owner was kind enough to make us delicious Chicken salad sandwiches on croissants with chips and even offered desserts! A complimentary bottle of wine started the weekend off right. We only wished the wedding had been as nice!

This was our first time staying at a B&B and we thouroughly enjoyed, We felt like we were guests in a good friends house. The breakfast was great. We also ate dinner in the Dining Room - a great meal served with true Southern hospitality.

The Lafayette Inn is a wonderful gem I discovered in the countryside of Virginia, outside Charlottesville. It is a charming hotel that is really a Bed and Breakfast with wonderfully appointed rooms, friendly Innkeepers and staff, and a remarkable restaurant. The meals are sumptuous, with a very special dinner option that is to die for! That would be the Chef tasting for two which is like having a private wine tasting. With the Chef preparing fantastic samples of a wide variety of dishes, these mini meals are paired perfectly with featured wines from a very complete wine list. The result is a night of culinary perfection. No one who appreciates fine wine,or fine food will be disappointed!!!!!! This Inn is a must for anyone traveling in this part of Virginia......Enjoy!

Two things that I might complain about. One thing is that the Jefferson Room, where we stayed, is close enough to the main street of town so that you may be bothered by cars an trucks coming through very late at night. So, take earplugs and Ambien.

Also, the trout wrapped in bacon was weird and they should take it off the menu. Just not what I expected.
