I surprised my boyfriend with a weekend away and it was worth every penny! We stayed at one of the 1-bedroom cabins and whereas I was worried it would be too small, it was absolutely perfect. Everything we could have needed was there waiting for us including robes for the hot tub! It was so nice to just relax and enjoy each others company in front of a roaring fire. The rooms were homey, but not so much that it makes you feel like you're in someone else's home. I recommend this for any couple that wants a getaway from the hectic lives we all lead.

The Dancing Bear was the perfect getaway for our annual girls weekend. It was exactly what we all needed, a place to relax and chill out. Whether it be while sitting in one of the many rocking chairs on the spacious back porch admiring the foliage, or unwinding in the hot tub while watching the stars, or sitting by one of two fireplaces, this cabin was perfect and more than met expectations. I can't say enough about this beautiful cabin, and can't wait to return!

For my fiance's birthday I rented the Romance Ridge Cabin. Everything was flawless from booking the cabin online to finding the cabin on our GPS, the check-in process and most importantly, our stay and the environment as a whole.

What I mean by check-in is that when we entered the cabin there was a sheet to sign (a general contract of sorts which was very reasonable), I signed it, put it in the mailbox at the top of the driveway and put the flag up as instructed. PERFECT. Didn't have to deal with a front desk, everything was at our leisure and by ourselves. Also, the charge didn't hit my credit card until the day of our stay when I had booked it in October, which is always nice.

When we walked into the cabin we were amazed! It was similar to a "studio" where the kitchen, family room and bedroom were all together, but spacious. Perfect for a couple! The kitchen had all of the amenities to cook dinners, breakfasts and lunches. The fireplace was an actual wood-burning fireplace AND the wood was supplied. Enough for at least 4 full fires! None of that "flip the switch" fire stuff. Perfect touch! The deck had 2 rocking chairs and a hot tub that overlooked the woods. It was very secluded and we enjoyed trying to look for bears and deers in the woods from the tub. Unfortunately we did not see any, but the experience itself was great.

This cabin is dog-friendly and unfortunately we do not have one to take advantage of it but you would NEVER know. The cabin is spotless. No random dog hairs or dander.

For the last 3 years I have rented a cabin for my fiances birthday and this one blew all of them away! We've stayed in NC and most recently, TN. If you go to TN and are frequent cabin goers, please stay as far away as possible from Sugar Maple Cabins. They are a -10 and this place was a perfect 10. It was so nice to have this experience after our horrible one last year.

Thank you Lydia Mountain Cabins, and especially, Tina. What a wonderful business you have and we cannot wait to visit again! You made our weekend one that we will never forget!!

For our second adventure to Lydia Mountain, we chose a two bedroom cabin. We had concerns that this more family oriented, pet friendly cabin would not have the charm, standard of cleanliness, and attention to detail that the one bedroom "Snuggle Den" did.
Granny B's is a two bedroom accommodation with a well appointed kitchen, futon, counter with (sturdy!) barstools, a small dining table with chairs, an uncovered deck with a large hot tub, fireplace, small flatscreen, and a number of comfortable rocking chairs on the deck and porch. It was cozy but still allowed for personal space. The beds were incredibly comfortable, everything suited us to a "t"! The bathroom had a shower/tub combo and was very clean and well maintained as was the rest of the cabin. We had a lovely, restful, visit and are already anticipating our next stay!

My husband and I stayed in the "Mountain Paradise" cabin that is owned by Lydia cabins but is located some distance away from the main cabins and lodge area. We loved the cabin and its private location. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen was well appointed and the hot tub was terrific.

We were in the area for a family wedding about a twenty minute drive away so we didn't get to spend as much time relaxing at the cabin as we would have liked but when we were there it was delightful.

Had a bit of trouble with the front door lock and the TV didn't work the first day but someone came over and fixed and who needs TV in a beautiful place like this.

Lydia mountain cabins provided the perfect quick weekend get away where we could relax and rejuvinate. Perfect for solitude & getting away from computers/cell phones. Dogwoods were all in bloom. Hot tub was spotless. Wine tour was great and our driver was very friendly and informative. I would do this at least once a year.

The bed was a little uncomfortable and the fire place didn't work, but fortunately it was warm out and the wine helped us get past the uncomfortable bed!

Room Tip: All of the cabins seem to face the woods so we hardly saw another person the entire time.

Wonderful cabins in the rural Virginia countryside. Accommodation is rustic but comfortable including good beds, a well-equipped kitchen and a private hot tub. Every cabin is very secluded and also has an outdoor firepit and barbecue. Well-located a few miles from Skyline Drive, Lydia Mountain is an ideal place to get away from it all.
