“Warm, Friendly and Cozy”
Reviewed 30 March 2014

We stayed at Daughter of the Stars for a night and loved the hospitality and environment. Misty was very welcoming; our room was upgraded because we were the only ones staying this night, and enjoyed the larger bathroom. The Native American history incorporated into the theme of the Bread and Breakfast was refreshing and we appreciated the arrowhead to take home. The innkeeper does live in the inn but we didn't find this to be a problem at all--we enjoyed the conversations. The breakfast may be more accommodating to dietary needs if communicated prior to arrival. We booked the day before so we didn't provide specifications though prefer to eat healthy/paleo.

Room Tip: This review was for the Kings Room with the larger bathroom. There are only 2 and both upstairs.

I feel right at home at this b&b. Patrick and Misty were so nice and welcoming. Food was great and the privacy and comfort were just what I needed to rejuvenate. Highly recommended and I'll definitely be back for my 4th visit!

We booked a night at this place when we were visiting Shenandoah park and Lurray caverns. When we got there, we were greeted by the innkeeper Misty who said all the right things to make us comfortable. However, the place is very unkempt. The room footrest was damp and had stains. The bed sheet was covered in hair. There was hair in the bathtub and the bathmat had stains. The innkeeper lives there with her children and the entire place (kitchen, etc) didn't seem very clean. She did change the sheets for us eventually and am sure she is doing her best with the kids. That said, she did make us a nice and light breakfast. However, we were very disappointed in the place.
