The hot bread and vegetarian lasagna were quite good. The veggie calzone had an excellent crust, but needed more filling--there were not nearly enough vegetables inside. The dinner salad was pretty good, but the dressing needs more basil and oregano.
The coffee was awful--they need to order a much better grind of coffee. It tastes like stale instant rather than fresh brewed. Also, it is inexcusable for a nice restaurant like Maria's to have non-dairy creamer instead of real half-and-half--especially since there is half and half that doesn't require refrigeration. Good coffee and real cream is just a basic expectation for an Italian restaurant. The waitress was very nice, but needed to be asked to provide the basics: I had to ask for a straw, for bread plates, for a refill on the iced tea, for more bread, etc. If management is responsive to these concerns, my wife and I would give them another try, though these have been ongoing concerns for this establishment.

We had a really great meat lover's pizza and the wait staff was top notch. Reasonably priced, but turned off by the additional charge of 75 cents for extra bbq sauce for the appetizers though.

Wish there was a 4 1/2 because 4 doesn't seem adequate. There were 18 of us that showed up. Every meal was good, served in a timely manner and hot. In spite of the sudden demand, the staff remained friendly and happy. And the place was packed with locals, always a good sign.

Server was outstanding! in town visiting family & they suggested we dine here. service was efficient and all dishes were served promptly. Food needs some seasoning as it was pretty bland, but overall given that Staunton is not known for Italian heritage it is okay.

We received a friendly welcome and our waiter paid attention to all of our needs. The eggplant Parmigiana was one of the best I ever ate and my partner's pasta was cooked to perfection. We would return and highly recommend this restaurant.
