First off, I will rave over the beautiful art -- the showroom is full of glass in all shapes and colors, and the sun coming through the large windows only makes it more amazing. There is a wide range of price points, ranging from $10 to $25 on up. They also sell designs by area jewelers, as well as Pandora items, and handmade accessories.
While I would recommend keeping an eye and hand on children while visiting this gallery, there is a fabulous opportunity to go into the studio and watch the glassblowers make the very art that is sold in the store. It is fascinating and the artists are great to explain what they are doing and to answer any questions you (or your children) might have. We scheduled ahead for our daughter to blow some ornaments to give as Christmas gifts. Ages 5+ are allowed to participate, but must have closed shoes. We returned the next day to pick up her ornaments, but they would have shipped to us. It costs more than buying pre-made ornaments but was a great experience for our child, and she can tell the grandparents she did it herself.
Lastly, I cannot say enough about the folks who work here. Everyone we have dealt with in the three times we have visited has been friendly, helpful, and pleasant -- not snooty, nor do they rush you. Our items have always been wrapped nicely and traveled well. I also like that they take AmEx!
The only possible negative I can think of to comment on would be the entrance to the store. It is in a neat old building, but with a couple small steps up to the door, and then step up again once you get inside. Not exactly wheelchair or walker-friendly. They may indeed have a more accessible entrance for those who need it but I would recommend contacting them before you make the trip, just in case.
If you enjoy art glass, or are looking for a unique gift item, or just have a bit of time to relax and wander around, Sunspots is a great place to go!
