I have been going to Don Pablos in Sterling for numerous years. Each year the food and service has gotten worst. Tonight (10/19/12) I ordered the Big Tex Ribeye Steak. You would have to strech any imagination that this excuse for any meat was a Ribeye. It came with so much tenderizer that it was all you could taste. This so called steak also had 50% grizzle. When I showed it to the manager, they took one third ($5.00) of the price. It was the equivalent of the coupon I was going to use; so no reduction for this excuse of meat for a steak. Simply stated, the restuarant buys he poor quality meat and then smothers it in tenderizer; so you can at least chew it. The tortilla chips whitch are usually good; tasted like pure grease, at leass they were free.

This is my last time eating at this Don Pablos in Sterling, Va. I would advise any dinners in the Sterling, VA. who enjoy Mexican food to dine elswhere; as I will do.

Miy review is verified that on this Friday evening when most restaruants are at full occupancy, the occupancy there was less than 33% .

We attempt to visit Don Pablo's every once in awhile to see if they have improved on their food and drinks or by chance some new manager has taken on the task to bring this place up to speed. Some of their dishes are actually pretty good as the fajitas (chicken is better) but portions are not too much to rave about. The real disappointment is in their drinks. We love to drink with our Mexican fare, but hands-down their frozen concoctions are absolutely poor, poor, poor quality. Everything they do with their frozen margaritas is wrong. Absolutely a mix of cheap alcohol (and very, very little of it in the drinks) overpriced, and of course a pre-mixed plastic tasting "frozen concoction" that will NOT help you hang on. You can drink 5 of those and get a better feel off of a Mountain Dew (due to the caffeine) than their drinks. The chips are good and non-stop, but seriously, sneak in your own miniatures to tequila to bring theirs up to some palatable level for consumption.

A group of restaurants that serve consistently good food. The menu is extensive. My wife's chile reanos were "the best she ever had. My fish tacos were nothing special and very different from the classic fish tacos. Our waitress was not very familiar with the menu, which doesn't help. For about 35% occupied, it was very noisy. Service was a little slow but the food was hot. The salsa served with the chips was very good.

This is a traditional Mexican chain restaurant. The space for the Don Pablo's chain is, as here, cavernous with every voice carrying. Don't choose this for a romantic fajita's place, it's loud and family-oriented. The food is dependably good. Not great, but it shouldn't disapoint.
