This was our first visit to Virginia and we decided to use strasburg as a base to see the Shenandoah valley, take a drive on the skyline drive and visit the luray cavern.
AC Stickley was one of the best if not the best B&B we have stayed in the USA. Decorated in Victorian style with a lot of attention to details in selection and matching of furniture, wall paper, bathroom tiles, bedspread, lamps and lights. Nice, cosy and a bit 'olde' world quirky. As good or even better than what you see in the photos on the website. At the same time, every creature comfort of the 21st century have been provided for in the B&B. effective central heating in the room, hot tub in the bath room and very powerful shower in a separate shower stall and of course nice toiletries.
Our room was very comfortable, tastefully furnished, had good central heating and was of a fairly good size.
We arrived around 4.00 pm and was warmly greeted by Donna who offered us a bottle of very nice wine and cheese plate. We enjoyed our wine, cheese and biscuits on the veranda with a nice view of the surrounding areas. Complimentary beer, soft drinks, crisps, coffee and teas were made available to guests. Donna is a very good host and obviously very passionate about cooking and this was reflected In her delicious and very creative 3 course breakfasts.
Will certainly recommend this inn to those who are visiting the shenoandoh valley.
