We stayed from june 21st to june 25th. The parking is ridiculously small, the pool is nice but tiny as well and has only one ladder and one set of steps so getting out was hard as everyone knows ppl hang out on the ladders at every pool for some reason and u cant access all the sides. I did enjoy the mini waterfalls on the side and from the ceiling but its very slick my daughter fell walking around the pool and there isn't nearly enough chairs. The elevator is suprisingly quick and the hotel staff were pretty friendly. Our rooms refridgerator was broken when we got there and they brought us another. The shower curtain had mold on it and a dead squashed bug was beside the faucet on the tub. The beds were ok and each bed had 4 pillows but the sheets looked dirty as well as the comforter. There was a hanger left on the lamp shade from the last guest which isn't a big deal I just wonder what else goes unnoticed. My party had two rooms on the 12th floor which was an excellent view but the room temps were horrible. If u had the bed in front of the ac u froze, if u had the bed near the wall u burned up. We set the controls for 60 to cool it down and the coldest it ever got was 78, we called the front desk and they sent someone up who acted like we were stupid and literally told us there is no point in turning the temp down lower than 78 because they have it set so it won't get any colder in the room. The tv in our room had a mind of its own and turned off and changed channels whenever it wanted to and thats the worst cable reception I've ever seen. Our other partys rooms remote didn't turn on the tv, the wifi wouldn't work in their room, and the balcony door wouldn't open so they had to fix that. Overall it wasn't a terrible experience but I've been coming to the beach every year for 10 years and have stayed in nicer cheaper hotels.

We were there from June 11-June 14th on the 6th floor. Our parents were on the 12 floor. We had a very clean room. Balconies overlook the boardwalk and beach. Beautiful views. Everyone from the front desk was nice and the bartender was great too. In the middle of everything so the only negative thing is that they need to figure out better parking. Small parking lot in front and if you drive in the evening you lose your spot. The other parking lots are across the street which can be a pain if you need to be close. Parking lot is small so if you drive bigger vehicles it is difficult to get around you in the parking lot. Otherwise I would definitely come back here to stay.

Thank you for the great comments and most of all thanks for the feedback on the parking lot. Our plan is to have a Valet work for the entire summer to assist our guests with parking.

We normally stay in Ocean City, MD and figured we would give Virginia Beach a try since we found some great concert tickets to Lady Antebellum so we figured we would have a great concert/beach weekend getaway.

1st -- the sand soccer tournament this past weekend made this a horrible stay as they hogged up most of the beach leaving very little room to enjoy the beach and what little was left you had to worry about soccer balls hitting you from out of nowhere... The room itself wasn't bad for furnishings/decor (executive king), but the air conditioning controls were way off -- 76 was like 66F in reality, the tile in the bathroom looked like a 12 year old installed it. There was what appeared to be a bar area but not really as no blender or anything to complete it.

The front desk staff didn't care that the stay was poor and were somewhat unattentive. The parking was horrible at best with staff taking up key spaces in the front lot and some of the spaces being blocked off with cones. The overflow parking lot was ridiculous as well. Told it was valet but definitely not well set up for valet.

The breakfast buffet was mediocre at best and the (french toast was dry) -- the plates on the serving area dirty (all three that were there), the chairs sticky, the staff unprofessional (horsing around) and the bill $40+ for 2 was a bit high for mediocrity.

There were no bottles of water on the 11th floor and the vending machine on the 10th floor didn't work (not fun having to go floor to floor looking for bottle water at $1.50 each for the beach).

Anyway the Lady Antebellum concert was great. If you don't have the beach soccer to deal with and can live with a lame boardwalk (not really a boardwalk), lousy parking, and a mediocre hotel then sign up... This was a 1st and last time experience for us coming to Virginia Beach -- too many other nice beaches/hotels that are way more tourist friendly.

Room Tip: Find a hotel that has parking and decent food. Also air conditioning that doesn't work right (t...

We at the Holiday Inn Oceanside are disappointed that your stay with us was not the highlight of your visit to Virginia Beach. Sand Soccer tournament is held every year and the event was a hugh success but I understand your concerns. Your feedback will be shared with our team in order to improve our service and quality for every one of our guests. We can only hope that you give us a second try as well as Virginia Beach.

We spent two nights in Virginia Beach at the Holiday Inn oceanside. It was a great hotel and we would definitely go back. The room had a perfect set up for entertaining if you were traveling with a group. Its a good location being right in the middle of the boardwalk strip. It was very clean and nice furnishings.

Room Tip: All rooms are on the beach. We were on the 7th floor so had a good view.

Thank you for the great comments and I must say it is a pleasure working with the team here at the Oceanside Holiday Inn. The 5 million dollar renovation that was just completed two months ago has set us apart from everyone us on the oceanfront.

I love the location of this hotel at the oceanfront with balconies overlooking the ocean. Despite check-in time being 3 pm, they checked me in at noon at no extra charge. The room and bath were very clean and in perfect condition, and the corporate green is pleasing to the eye :)

The recent reviews on Trip Advisor regarding the updated decor for this Holiday Inn was my reasoning for booking for a couple of nights away from the children, hustle & bustle. Of course, unbeknownst to us, cheerleading and band competition groups were also booked @ the 21st Street HI - the epitomy of children, hustle & bustle.

Thankfully, our room was on the 12th floor all of the way at the end of the hallway so we were not bothered by the flurry of teenagers.

The room was clean with the exception of the sliding glass door. Everything in the room was operative with the exception of the microwave. The extra comforter I found in the bottom drawer had coffee stains on it.

The breakfast was good but expensive and I was served a butter pat that had already been opened and used previously but a person coud have easily mistaken it as being unused. I would say for health reasons; however, if a packet of jelly or butter, etc. is served to a table, then whether they appear to be used or not, the food items on the table should be put in the trash.

The pool area was clean and the temperature was good.

Our wireless connection to the internet did not work initially; however, they had someone come to our aid quickly and rebooting the wireless hotspot for the 12th floor did the trick.

For those of us who grew up in Virginia making trips to VB on occasion, everyone is familiar with the 21st Street HI. How could anyone miss it since it is the first thing you see when headed to Atlantic Avenue? For the value, it is still a good choice.

Room Tip: If there is a group of children present for some sort of local competition, ask to be roomed as far...

I must say your detailed feedback was very helpful in the training of staff members. Our WiFi system has been upgraded to be the fastest on the beach front. We have also added access points through out the hotel which will enable a guest onto the wireless system from anywhere on the property. With feedback like yours we are continuing to improve our quality and service to every guest.
