Poor people skills. Took 30 mins to check in. Wasn't said hi to or anything. HORRIBLE nightmare of a parking deck. The rooms didn't have bugs from what I could tell, but it is old and run down. Trash was left in the drawer. Big rooms - but gross and poorly kept. Old TVs. Noisy. Ignorant ppl that stayed. For instance, we had out car parked and when we came out the next morning there were cigarette ashes all over it from the people who were smoking from the decks above.

If you are looking for a 5-star hotel, keep looking. This is not your place. But, if you are not bothered by older furnishings in an older building, for a reasonable price, this could be your place. This hotel is not updated as compared to other recent stays we have had at other hotels. We were a little desperate as we made the reservation the evening that we needed to check in. The property is older but is clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a parking deck, but it's a little tight for vehicles larger than a small SUV or sedans. There are some parking spots along the front of the hotel too that are good for larger vehicles. Other parking lots in the area are $10 a day. There is a 7-11 across the street. At this location you are a block off of Atlantic which means you are about 1.5 blocks from the Oceanfront. You are between 10th & 11th. You can walk to a variety of shops, restaurants & bars. You are also a quick walk from Pizza Planet(My favorite pizza shop at the Oceanfront)

When my husband checked in he said we got the next to last room. Whew! I was a little worried as there were LOTS of people hanging around on the balcony out front. I thought we would not get any sleep. When we got to our third floor room and entered we were happy to see it was clean. There was a futon, table, dresser and tv in the "living room". There was also a stove & sink that rounded out the kitchenette. I wouldn't have used the stove though, it was sketchy. There was some food debris in the sink. I just ignored it. I was too tired to worry about it. The bathroom divided the space and it was clean and of decent size. Basic bathroom, nothing to write home about. The bedroom contained a dresser, two double beds & nightstand. Very sparse, basic and older. I did my customary check for critters. Finding none, we settled in for the night. For being an older bed, I was surprised that I was as comfy as I was. I slept like a rock. Also, for the hotel being full, I didn't hear a thing. I was pretty shocked. No kids running on the balcony, no loud parties, nothing. Thank you fellow hotel guests!

Sunday morning we slept in. When we got up it was pretty quiet. We ran into a few other guests. I had a nice chat with a lady from N. Carolina who was there with a church group. There were people in the third floor outdoor pool. We did not have time to use the pool. But it looked clean and inviting. When we arrived back at the hotel later that evening, our room had been tended & the hotel was pretty quiet. There were a few people sitting out again but they were quiet. We greeted our neighbors, as they were sitting outside of their room. We went inside, turned on the news and never heard any of the other guests.

Monday morning we checked out and left. The staff we encountered was kind and helpful. The AC was cold. The fridge worked, as did the tv and the shower had hot water. We enjoyed nightly walks on the beach, a pleasant meal at Planet Pizza & really enjoyed our stay.

The price was a but higher than I wanted to pay, but as stated, we made our reservations and checked in that same night. Not sure if we would stay there again. Probably would. The location is really good for something NOT oceanfront. We had all we needed, so what can we complain about? Nothing. Keep in mind, hotels get abused year after year by thousands of guests. It must be hell maintaining one. I cut some slack in that department unless it's just over the top, blatant disregard for maintenance. I didn't see that here. I just see an older property that could use a good overhaul but isn't so far gone it's unsafe or unworthy of being saved. As stated, if you are looking for a five star hotel, this isn't your hotel. It's family friendly, with a great location and a kind staff. If you are visiting Virginia Beach in the summer, you aren't going to spend much time in your hotel room anyway!

There is nothing fancy about the hotel but the staff are friendly and helpful. All of the rooms are older but they are clean. The upstairs rooms with small balcony's nice and offer a nice view. Within walking distance to food and shopping. Good hotel for the price.

Room Tip: top floors w/balcony

The only inn we chose randomly and without preckecking it or booked in advance and it turned out to be the only one we didn't like. We were tired from driving and just needed a place to stay. The rooms are very old and rusty and kind of noisy. It looked clean but average clean,And 80 dollars with no breakfast are a lot for this room.the only good thing is the location which is close to everything. definately would stay there again.

We arrived there late at night and it was the only motel with a room for 3 people. The building was old and but it was clean. Everything in the room was outdated and there was a lot of noise coming from the other rooms. The good thing was that it had a 7/11 store very close. I wouldn't recommend it cause I'm sure there are better motels to stay in this area!

We stayed at this location again for Memorial Day weekend. Last year when we visited their ice machine was down and the owner authorized the 7-11 across the street to let all of his guests get ice if we needed it and HE paid for it. Not that ice is expensive but just a kind gesture when he didnt have to do that. The staff is always so friendly and we enjoy staying here

This place is old and ran down. Everything is outdated. Parking garage is a joke you go up and down the same ramp....one way in and out...that is potentially dangerous. This room has so much mold and mildew. Dirty walls, carpet, floors, sink and tub. The wash clothes and towels are dingy. The sheets on the bed are worn. Pillows are old and dirty..no pillow case cover to keep pillow clean. Pillow case very dingy. Bedspread worn and torn. Remote to the television does not work. This was the worst hotel stay I've ever had!
