Every time we pass Jager's the parking lot is crowded and the restaurant looks crowded. Tonight was no different except we decided that we were going to stop and eat at the restaurant. On Thursdays it is biker's night but we stopped anyway being that I was a biker in the seventies. The grounds and the restaurant and bar were packed. There were dozens of motorcycles. There was an excellent band. The music was loud but very good classic hard driving rock.
We had the smoked BBQ Platter and the Oyster Basket. Both meals were very good. The oysters were moist and tender. The BBQ Pulled Pork had a very good smoke flavor without the smoke being over powering. The french fries were crispy and tasty. The meals were ample and reasonably priced. J.R., the owner, has drink specials every night and at a good price-$1 domestic bottle beer and $2 well drinks. Not only does J.R. have daily drink specials but on Thursdays he has hourly specials. The menu is basically a beach menu.
We will be returning to Jager's the next time we are back at Virginia Beach in a couple of weeks.
If you are going with the family if might be better to not go on bike night-Thursdays. It might be too noisy, crowded, and older crowd for young children. Otherwise, have a great time at Jager's no matter what night you go to the restaurant.
