“A Little Slice of Paradise”
Reviewed 23 July 2012

What an incredible experience we had at the Country Villa Inn! We were looking to spend our 22nd anniversary at Sandbridge Beach and did not want to stay at a chain hotel in VA Beach. My husband suggested looking for a B&B and when I did an internet search, this delightful location was first on the list! After browsing the web site, I called and Petie picked up on the second ring. After she explained the ammenities and then the 3-course breakfast, my husband said "Book IT!". We spent the day at the Beautiful and quiet Sandbridge Beach and then checked in around 4pm. Fresh cookies were waiting in our beautiful room (the d'Elidie) which was private and a serene oasis of calm. We had a delightful evening and the next morning got our first taste of the WONDERFUL breakfast! All I can say is, don't eat for three days before you book, you will DEFINITELY be full and NOT need a lunch. Our breakfast was cooked "to order" from Peties exensive menu and the surroundings were supurb! After another delightful day at the beach (chased in side due to the weather) we were unable to enjoy the pool or hot tup, but had a very restful evening after another great meal at the local mall (only 15 minutes from the B&B). No need to travel to VA Beach for a good meal and fight the traffic, Country Inn has everything you need for your stay. I have already reccomended this supurbe getaway to several dear friends and I advise you to take advantage of this "Slice of Paradise"!

Room Tip: Petei and Phil have thought of everything including all the items to make your trip the beach as eas...

We came to stay here over the fourth of July weekend for a couples get away and we stayed in the Elodie room. I loved that this was a small place because it was more private and romantic. We were so impressed with the atmosphere and decor, our room and the bathroom were so beautiful I wished mine at home were this nice. This place is amazing the look and the feel are so comfortable. The fresh cookies were delicious and the complimentary wine was great. Petie and Phil are so friendly and warm they were a pleasure to visit and talk with we had so much fun with them, they really make you feel at home, like your family. We also got a couples massage while we were here and it was better than we had hoped. The breakfasts each morning were superb and everything tasted better than imagined. Petie and Phil made us feel so special and I cant imagine that you could get better treatment anywhere. We know where we'll be coming back to next time we vacation. We cant wait to come back!

While getting away from all our our cares, the Country Villa Inn, was the perfect respite. Our room was well-appointed and lovely. Petie and Phil are excellent hosts and attended our every need. Petie's culinary skills and attention to detail are outstanding and make for a grand breakfast event. Delicious, delicious, delicious! (Did you get that?) This Inn is close to Va. Beach attractions, but off of the beaten path, very quiet and serene...........a delightful surprise! Enjoy your stay at the Country Villa Inn!

My husband and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary at the Country Villa Inn B&B. We stayed for 2 nights in the "Emily" suite! It was such a beautiful room and it was so comfortable, homey and clean. Petie really made us feel welcome from the beginning of the entire experience! When reserving the room over the phone, Petie took the time to customize our experience! No detail was left to chance! When entering into our suite, we were greeted with beautiful heart-shaped balloons tied to a champagne glass with chocolates! Our room had perfectly placed windows which let it natural light. We also enjoyed homemade chocolate chip-pecan cookies, fantastic wine, and a fabulous 3-course breakfast. The 3-course breakfast was an experience in itself! We enjoyed fresh fruit courses, delicious omelets, scrambled eggs, and breakfast desserts! If you have never heard of a breakfast dessert, then this is the first place to go to have your first experience. We enjoyed stuffed French toast and apple and peach dumplings!! Magnifique! On the property, there is also a beautiful swimming pool and hot tub which is fenced in to offer you privacy. The property is surrounded by beautiful plants and trees! They also offer spa services on the property!! We recommend this B&B to anyone who is looking for a quiet getaway in a beautiful, warming, and inviting environment!!

We went to the Country Villa Inn for our 19th anniversary and had a wonderful weekend. We have stayed at several B&B's and they were all larger but this one has changed our opinion of them. It is so much more personal and Petie is so warm and friendly. You feel like you are staying with friends. It is so nice to be able to choose what you like for breakfast intstead of just having something put in front of you. We wanted to sit outside for breakfast and Phil was so great about getting the cushions out for the chairs and asking us what we needed.
The breakfast was absolutely amazing and we were so full we didnt have lunch. The bed was so comfortable that we actually slept better than we had in a long time. It was so private - we had the pool and the hot tub to ourselves. Sandbridge beach was only about 10 minutes away. This is a much quieter, family orientated beach than Virginia Beach. Petie was very helpful in recommending nice restaurants. It is our dream to own a B&B someday and I would run it just like Petie and Phil do.

Room Tip: We stayed in the d'elodie room which had an private entrance to the pool and spa. We liked this...

I won't repeat what's already been said. The breakfast is as awesome as everyone says and you will relax the night away in the hot tub which was great as is, but will soon be even better due to an upgrade planned. I just want to share a couple of things that I didn't know before we went:

1) THe Eloide room, although the larger of the two only has a queen sized bed. It's beautiful and comfortable, but for those used to sleeping in a king, it is an adjustment. Petie mentioned they may have a king room soon, which we will be sure to book.
2) the bathroom is open to the rest of the room. When more personal business needs to be...ahem, addressed, we just chilled in the living room right outside the room.
3) it seemed like it was first come, first served as far as where to sit for breakfast outdoors. Both locations are great, but if you really have a preference try to plan ur breakfast time around the other couple.
4) the room really is a great value. When you consider that we rarely ate again before dinner because breakfast was so hearty, wine is included, dessert ( cookies) provided daily.
We were B&B newbies, and right before we got there I had a sinking feeling in my stomach like, what did I just get us into, but Petie and Phil have mastered the delicate balance of personal attention and privacy. We can't wait to return!!

We stayed at the Country Villa for 2 nights for our first anniversary. It was our first time at a B&B and I have a feeling that no other will be able to live up to the level of service that Petie and Phil were able to provide in the short time that we spent with them. From the first moment that we met Petie, we instantly felt right at home as she gave us a tour of the property. We felt like we were visiting friends rather than staying as guests at a business. Every detail was impeccable. It sounds crazy, but I actually found myself halfway hoping that the weather would be less than perfect so that we could just hang around the house instead of going to the beach -- it was just that comfortable and cozy. But, Sandbridge Beach (only 10 mins away) is also wonderful. Unlike the busy and crowded Virginia Beach by the boardwalk, it feels much more private. Even on a busy July weekend, the closest sunbathers on either side of us were at least 25 yards away! It felt much more like the Outer Banks than a crowded mid-Atlantic beach as we expected.

The breakfast is beyond compare and will leave you full until dinner (my husband had to eliminate one of the courses on the second day because he was too stuffed!) and the grounds are just lovely. We loved how Petie and Phil are always working to improve the property and add more great options for their guests (ie: new packages, additions to the outdoor spaces like a fire pit). We will be telling all of our friends and family about Petie and Phil and look forward to coming back to visit them for another weekend (or a week!) away, or even hopefully to renew our vows in their beautiful altar or pavillion in a few years!

I could go on and on about the fabulousness of the Country Villa, but I found it was nice to discover some of the perks as surprises. Believe me, the only thing that you will regret if you book here is not making your stay long enough!
