The Black Horse Inn was beautiful, romantic, relaxing and every other wonderful adjective we could give it. We were pampered yet left alone. The room was lovely; the breakfast was delicious and the house is stunning. We can't wait to go back.

My "Bucket List" included foxhunting in Virginia and staying in a gorgeous Civil War Era mansion.Black Horse Inn was the ideal setting. The owner Lynn Pirozzoli and innkeeper Joyce made me feel most welcome-from the sherry/cheese& cracker tray ,the delicious breakfast ,right down to providing me with a foxhunter and hunt with the Snickersville Hounds on Sunday.Lynn even had stabling available if I wanted to bring my own horse-next time I will. The beauty of the rooms and grounds is surpassed only by the graciousness of the hostess.

Still in awe, and ready to return! Beautifully appointed, spacious inn with excellent food and service. This traditional Fox Hunt decor, very- very Virginian B&B was both historic and superbly comfortable with amazing modern ammenities. The innkeeper is exceptional, and very friendly with lots of great ideas for area entertainment. We are foxhunters and love traditional settings. Horse-friendly, this B&B offers everything to meet our needs. Virginian by the grace of God, I can truly say that we felt our 1640 roots tingling with love for this spot in Virginia. Why stay anywhere else?

My husband and I booked this B&B online a few months ago for a short weekend getaway. Owner Lynn Pirozzoli promptly replied to my email, and our visit was booked. When I had to change our reservation date a couple times, she promptly responded--accommodating us without any fuss.

As for the physical property, it is a stunner! It's a hunt-country estate, replete with horses, landscaped grounds, terraces, a gazebo, and even a separate reception hall. Obviously, they have the discriminating bride in mind when they restored this property! It would be a gorgeous site for a wedding, and I'm sure they have hosted countless ceremonies and receptions! Even on this cold weekend, we could still enjoy the beauty of the site. We walked around the property and were much impressed by it.

Upon our entry into the home, Ms. Pirozzoli personally greeted us. We were happily surprised to be told that we would be upgraded from our selected room to the "Honeymoon Suite," the Great Expectations suite. What a terrific gift to receive at the start of our weekend! While all the rooms were expertly appointed, this suite must truly be experienced for oneself! Designed for the traveling couple, the decor and distinctive room features made the weekend a truly romantic one for us.

Moreover, the breakfast served both mornings was substantial, fresh, and tasty. The server (and cook) was so friendly and perfectly attendant to our needs, it was such a delight. Beyond the wonderful breakfast, the afternoon tea included a generous array of soft drinks, water, wine, tea, as well as crackers with cheeses and fruit, and chocolate-dipped strawberries and cookies. Served in the sunroom overlooking the back of the property, it provided a lovely moment of rest at the start of each evening.

Last, Ms. Pirozzoli provided spot-on concierge service, such as offering to make dinner reservations and outlining the best route we should take to visit the countless wineries throughout the surrounding area.

I can plainly say that this weekend was truly one of the best getaways my husband and I have enjoyed. Actually, it's the best getaway we've enjoyed together. For anyone considering a Virginia winery trip, be certain to contact the Black Horse Inn.

Valentines Day was a treat and my wife loved her stay. Chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne were waiting for us upon arrival. Hors' d euvres and wines were also served along with fresh baked cookies waiting for us as a midnight "nightcap." The room was romantic and my wife loved the canopy bed and the jacuzzi. Breakfast was scrumptious and served by a most attentive staff. We waded though the snow to say hello to the horses. What a delightful place! I highly recommend it!
