Such a relaxing weekend! Lynn was a great hostess, communicating before the trip and greeting us upon our arrival. The cottage itself was perfectly sized for two, with a breathtaking view of the mountains from the front porch. The two "rent-a-dogs," Tilly and Finn, added a sweet, homey touch.
The two ponds on the property were a favorite for my husband. He brought along his fishing gear and spent hours doing what he calls his "meditation."
There are lots of things to do in the surrounding towns, plus the Shenandoah National Park is a short drive away. We discovered a wonderful restaurant in nearby Washington, VA that was outstanding. The cafe next to the post office is a friendly diner where everyone knows everyone else.
We definitely recommend this property for a quiet getaway. The only caveat is that the bedroom is in a quaint loft upstairs, accessible only by a steep spiral staircase. This could be challenging for anyone who has difficulty with stairs.
Other than that, perfection!
If only I had more time! Great spot. Quiet, good view. Private, rural. Lovely host, very close to The Inn at Little Washington and convenient to transport and Wineries and local antique stores and interesting towns.
