This place has been recently renovated and has a new chef, Tom, and new focus. The menu is unique and is a nice surprise in a small town with few options. I have been there twice and the service was excellent and friendly. Wonderful homemade soups, large salads and a New Orleans twist. Gave it 4 stars until it gets more experience. Will be a popular spot in Little Washington.

Just ok. Service was good and service nice. Good was ho hum. Everything seems to have a Cajun twist. But not well executed. The place looks good and was clean and open for lunch in a town without any options. I won't go back but there was nothing really wrong just not interesting.

Tula's Off Main recently went through a complete renovation and has reopened as a full service restaurant. Run by the same group that operates the Thornton River Grille, expectations were high and they have been decidedly met. Chef Tom Nash has put together a NOLA inspired menu drawing on his past time spent cooking in the Big Easy. A single menu serving both lunch and dinner with multiple great items for under $10 and going up from there.
They are currently working on adding a bar and patio which should round out the operation nicely.

Nice atmosphere, good service. I had the roasted Veggie sandwich which came with a lovely greens salad for $8.00 . It was fresh and delicious. My husband, who is Gluten Free, had a pear and arugala salad and the lunch portion of dirty risotto which looked amazing. This is a sister restaurant to the Thornton River Grill in Sperryville I look forward to returning soon.

This place was recommended to us by some friends who live not far away, so we went for dinner when we were in Little Washington for a concert. We were delighted to find that the menu included a number of Louisiana specialities, including po boys made with Leidenheimer's bread, from the old-time New Orleans bakery of that name. Using some other bread has spoiled just about every po boy I've had outside of South Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I don't know how the get fresh Leidenheimer's in northern Virginia, but it was definitely the real thing. The shrimp po boy was mighty fine. Several at our table had salads, all attractive and ample. One had New Orleans-style "barbecue shrimp," which came with an odd rosemary biscuit -- the shrimp was great, although I still haven't decided about the biscuit. A portion of chocolate bread pudding for dessert was plenty for two of us: the only way it could have been better was with some custard, ice cream, or whiskey sauce. The one dish I didn't care for was a side dish of red beans and rice, which was rather dry and tasted too strongly of chili powder. Oh, and they have a good selection of beers, including Abita Amber from Louisiana.
The staff was pleasant and helpful -- not intrusive, but ready to answer questions and to chat, if that's what you want (we did).
All in all, a very good meal, reasonably priced, and a fine experience. We would happily go again.
