We choose the cabins at Iris Inn for our week long second honeymoon after reading a number of reviews. Service was top notch, the cabin was top notch, the breakfast was top notch! The owners were kind and welcoming without being pushy. Breakfast was delicious and filling. My husband is a picky eater and the staff kindly provided alternatives for breakfast if he preferred something other than what was being served that day. Look no further, as a matter of fact stop reading this review and book now. You will not be disappointed!

Room Tip: The cabins are amazing! There are cottages and Bed and Breakfast rooms as well.

This is a beautiful little inn with a very hospitable staff and delicious breakfast. Our room was clean and spacious - very comfortable. The balcony at the inn has all sorts of comfortable seating to suite anyone's style - from rocking chairs to hammocks. The staff had a complimentary little "happy hour" around 5:30pm, which made for a great way to get to know the other people staying at the inn. The only negative I would mention at all (and something they can't control), is that the inn is close enough to the highway that you hear the constant hum of the trucks when sitting outside on the balcony. But being close to the highway did make it super easy to get to the inn. Overall this was an extraordinary experience and if we are lucky enough, we will certainly be back to stay in the future.

We spent a wonderful evening in their modern contemporary cabins. Dave and Heidi were excellent hosts and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They made great recommendations for local events and restaurants. We will be sharing this well kept secret with all of our friends.

Room Tip: The modern cabins are excellent for couples!

Iris Inn was absolutely amazing. I was pleasantly surprised. I am very hard to please and not easily impressed, but the Iris Inn is definitely on my list of places to revisit. We stayed at the couple cabin which resembled tree houses. What a view and what beautiful weather! We took a walk up the road which was very peaceful as well! Glenn and the beautiful young lady (I can't remember her name) were so sweet and so pleasant. Bita and Brian Nastovski

Arrived to meet our friends for a place to nest as we toured the wine country.Glenn was our host, with the most...every request was taken care of with joy.Resturant reservations, winerys and printed directions. We needed all of them GPS did not always work.A craft class of flower pounding, sent us home with art to remind us of our fun reunion with dear old friends. We will return to this sunny spot, even tho we had some showers.

My husband and I were looking for a quick weekend getaway location from DC. Not too far away, but romantic and relaxing. We found all of this and more during our 3 night stay at the Iris Inn. Upon our arrival at the inn we met Dave who gave us a lay of the land and reminded us about the times for breakfast. He also shared that the cabins are very private. So private, that no one from the inn would be stopping by to service anything in the cabin while we were there. They would leave us alone. Of course we could have asked for towels or whatever else we needed, but we enjoyed the privacy. Next we met Heidi who was making an apple pie in the kitchen. But she had made chocolate chip cookies earlier that we could help ourselves to. We chose Cabin #6 for its location. Though we thought Cabin #6 would have been far right - as it turned out the cabins are numbered right to left when your back is facing the main house - so #6 was far left. We completely lucked out with the privacy of the cabin. We had seen in another review that cabin #6 wouldn’t be as private with traffic coming up and down the driveway. If there was traffic (both vehicle and pedestrian) we never noticed it. We felt more private given that the open side of the screened-in porch faced the woods and the privacy panel on the other side of the porch, closest to the hot tub, was closer to Cabin #5. We loved everything about our cabin. The layout was very functional. The bed was comfortable. The radiant heat in the bathroom was amazing first thing in the am. The shower was great. The privacy shades allowed us to keep out what we wanted, but left us open to what we chose as well. So many little flourishes really made the cabin seem like an adult tree house. Every morning we headed to the main part of the inn for breakfast. Each meal was just a delicious as the day before. We visited a number of wineries and even picked blackberries at one of them. We drove into Staunton and blew our own glass ornaments on day 2. Our final night, we were able to catch the most amazing sunset. Overall, it was such a relaxing experience I can’t wait to make it back.

Room Tip: Cabins #1 and #6 offer the most privacy. The open side of #1 faces towards the privacy screen of C...

I have to admit, I am biased towards this place, because I was first there, two years ago at a Board of Directors meeting that was held here. I always said, if I ever had a chance to stay there, I would do in a heartbeat. I first met David and Heidi then and I thought what wonderful people. It was almost like they they wanted to just be friends than business owners, they put you at ease. Heidi's lunch was wonderful too. Well, I was fortunate enough to surprise my wife and book Valentine's Day weekend there. Dave was wonderful, he was so helpful. We wanted to reserve the room for two days but he said that some one else had booked it but there was a room right across from the one we were staying in and he'd put me up for the same price. So, I agreed. We arrived, and the place was amazing, It's unlike any bed and breakfast place I had ever been before. The main house has like 6 rooms, and there are 4 cabins in the front of the property overlooking the mountains and finally they have cabins as well. At night, the sunset is beautiful overlooking Waynesboro. The 5pm wine tasting is a great way to relax after a day of sight seeing. There dinner recommendations are spot on too. "Edelweiss German Restaurant was excellent, great German food and beer. "The Ordinary" was another great recommendation by Heidi. We really enjoyed that restaurant on our way to Monticello. The room are nicely decorated and the second room we stayed in the "Duck Room" has handicap accessible rails in the bathroom . I would highly recommend this Inn to couples, family and friends. It's a nice getaway from the DC area, only about 2 1/2 hours away. Heidi's breakfast are absolutely wonderful, very filling and taste wonderful.

Room Tip: I would recommend the Bird Room it's off towards the back of the Inn. We loved it.
