“Great location and breakfasts”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

We stayed for three nights in the Orchid Room. The breakfasts were varied and delicious. The location was great for visiting Staunton, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Monticello. The hosts were very helpful with restaurant reservations and discount coupons for one of the museums we visited.

We stayed at the Belle Hearth Bed and Breakfast on May17 and 18. We were celebrating our 40th Anniversary. Our stay was very enjoyable. Both days started with an excellent breakfast. The hosts were very easy to talk to and helped us with our plans to visit the area each day.

Did not want to leave, the hosts Linda and Wayne made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked through the front gate, came as guests and felt we left as friends. The house is magnificent, Victorian residential house on a leafy quiet street, although only 1 or 2 blocks from Main Street. The attention to detail with everything from furnishings, to catering was second to none. The house has a lot of period English furniture and ornaments collected through a lifetime, partly in England, we felt so much at home.
We had breakfast on a large table in the dining room with other guests and we all got on so well, breakfast took at least an hour and could have gone on much longer had we not needed to leave for our next destination. Food was superb, really tasty and lovingly prepared and presented.
Our bedroom was beautiful, with a very comfortable bed, we had the Iris room.

Room Tip: iris room was lovely, although the other rooms that we saw looked equally as nice.

We had an excellent night at the Belle Hearth. We had the best B&B breakfast of our trip here. The house was full of interesting pieces and would justify several hours exploring everything. Thanks for a nice stay.

Went to celebrate my 26th birthday and this was a great choice. Linda and Wayne were very warm and welcoming. Very clean and homey. There's a bathroom in each room which was great, unlike some other B&Bs. The place is close to horseback riding and hiking, which we did. The best part about the stay is the breakfast. Very well rounded breakfasts that were delicious!! :)

I booked this room for my husband's birthday and was really glad I had chosen the Belle Hearth over a conventional hotel. This was our first stay in a bed and breakfast. We stayed for one night to visit the local breweries and really enjoyed the room, the inn keepers and the breakfast. This home is clean, lovely and full of interesting collectables and bits of history. They have a nice inground pool, so we look forward to staying for a weekend sometime this summer with our 8 year old.
Dont hesitate to book this inn!

Room Tip: There is one king sized bed in the house - The Orchard room.

We stayed at the Belle Hearth for Valentine's Day weekend. The home has lots of charm and character!! My husband, who is a DIY-er and into old quality furniture/homes, had a great time looking at the fireplaces, floors, furniture, etc.

It is in a great location for walking to downtown Waynesboro, driving to Staunton, and lots of wineries/breweries. Also convenient to Charlottesville.

The innkeepers were very friendly and made us feel right at home. They offered great suggestions for things to do in the area when our plans changed at the last minute. They also have a lot of brochures around the house, which exposed us to other interesting things in the area. They left a chocolate bar on our bed with a Happy Valentine's Day sticker, which we thought was a thoughtful touch.

They have two sweet cats and we enjoyed petting them and seeing them lounge around as we came in and out (the innkeepers said the cats stay downstairs and we never saw them upstairs, so coming into our room was not a concern).

The heat in our room wasn't great - it was a cold weekend and we stayed pretty bundled. The covers on the bed were awesome, though. We definitely weren't cold in bed! Our room, the Magnolia Suite, was the only one without a gas fireplace. We would opt for a room with a gas fireplace if we came back in the winter. Overall, it was a very nice room. The back bedroom let in great light. The bed in the front room was super comfortable.

The breakfast was good -- I really enjoyed the stuffed croissant and DH really liked the broccoli quiche.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would go back if we were in the area.
