“Clean, comfortable, secure, but SHABBY”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2013

I'm on a budget so money was a huge factor. We were spending time at the Theme Parks, so I was looking to spend my money there, rather than a hotel. So my criteria was a cheap hotel that was clean. I got exactly what I wanted. The room was CLEAN. The beds were super comfortable and CLEAN. The towels were CLEAN and plentiful. The A/C worked perfectly, in fact it was a bit too much at times. We didn't hear any excess noise from other guests, so we were able to sleep well. The breakfast was the usual fare of eggs and sausage, cereals and oatmeal, waffle maker, bagels, toast and muffins. Just what our family of 5 needed to sustain us before heading to Busch Gardens. The room itself was shabby. There was a hole in the carpet between the beds about the size of an orange. The bedspread on one of the beds also had a quarter size hole. The room was not modern in any way, actually looked very dated. There was also a bit of a "wet" smell to the room, but it was in no way overpowering. I know we got back from the parks every day soaking wet, so I don't think we were the first people to do so! It was in an excellent location so we felt extremely safe. I would stay again especially for the price. Don't stay here looking for modern and cool. Stay here only if you can look past the cosmetics and just want to have an excellent night's sleep for really cheap money. BTW, the staff were super accommodating. We checked in around 9:30 pm after being at the parks all day. We got to the room and we didn't have the roll away bed we needed for our son. They brought it up within seconds. Once she arrived, we mentioned to her that our TV wasn't working (which could have been a big deal) and she was able to turn it on manually. It seemed the remote was out of batteries. She came back 10 minutes later, having walked over to a nearby hotel to borrow batteries from them to give to us. I thought that was outstanding!!

My family came to Williamsburg to visit family. We chose Sleep Inn for the location and price. It was a good choice. Of it's class of hotel, it deserrves 4 out of 5. The only complaint I have is the air conditioner in our room cooled but didn't seem to pull the humidity. The room was clean. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was a bit more than continental. We'd stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here on a sightseeing trip. The hotel is a bit farther from the Colonial area and Busch Gardens than some others, and it is probably older than some of the others, but all we wanted was a clean bed for a reasonable price, which is what we received.

The property is clean and seems to be undergoing some renovations. The mattress was ok, it's probably seen better days. The motel's breakfast was the largest I've seen so far with Choice Hotels. The motel is good for a short stay.

I fled here from one of the apocalyptic students' dorms, while attending a professional meeting at the College of William & Mary. I was somewhat thin on my travel budget, and I deliberately chose an inexpensive alternate accommodation. The room was very good value. Spacious, fairly clean. One thing I never understand while traveling in the US is why do budget hotels all have thick carpets, so difficult to keep clean. To look like luxury hotels, I imagine, but the latter can afford to clean them thoroughly, while the former usually cannot ... In any event the room was OK and decently clean in spite of the thick (and not totally sanitary) carpets. What was really disappointing is breakfast: precooked omelettes and hamburgers (the latter smelling real bad), with no real choice even for a continental breakfast.

Room Tip: Given a choice, I would opt for a room on the second floor.

This hotel is a great value for the location and price. The rooms are small but sufficient. The layout is different than most hotel rooms but was the same as a previous Sleep Inn we stayed in so I think it may be normal for this brand. There is a shower only, no tub. The room was clean with one exception; there was a small amount of mold on the bottom of the shower stall door area on the inside. You don't see it until you are in the shower. The carpet was clean but had a couple small stains and an imprint of the iron in the middle of the room. Replacing the carpeting would improve the look of the room a lot. The rest of the room and bedding was clean. Our security latch was broken, missing the door section. We reported it to the front desk and is was repaired by the time we returned to our room that afternoon.

The complimentary breakfast has a variety of items, both hot and cold. We stayed four nights and it was the same every morning. It would have been nice to have something different throughout our stay. But it provided enough to start our day.

The location is excellent. It is off the road enough that we never heard any road noise in our room. It is a very short drive to the Colonial Williamsburg Visitor Center where you can park for free and ride the shuttle downtown.

I would not hesitate to stay here again if we were in the area and would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a clean hotel at a good price.

Being a frequent visitor to Williamsburg, we were looking for an inexpensive place to stay over for one night while doing a weekend at Water Country USA. Location of the hotel is great. It is located a short drive from the colonial area and the theme parks. It is walking distance to several places to eat. First impression is that this is not a new hotel, but it is clean. It had a slight musty smell in the lobby as older hotels do, but nothing that would turn us away. The front desk staff was friendly both at check in and check out. The rooms are a little small and the bathroom even smaller, but the room was clean and had everything needed for an overnight stay. Having been at the water park all day we did not use the pool, but it looked ok. The morning breakfast was good. It included make your own waffles, eggs and sausage, muffins, bagels, toast, yogurt, cereal and juices. It was enough for everyone to have something before heading out without breaking the bank at one of the local restaurants. Bed in pillow were a little soft for my liking but not horrible. Would stay here again if looking for a less expensive place to stay short term.
