Wi-fi worked sporadically. Bathroom was tiny. Hottub water was freezing. All The cable equipment in the Gym was broken. The rooms were shabby. Cleaning service knocked on our door every morning and woke us.

Right across street from Colonial Williamsburg...walking distance to main entrance. Great value for location and quality of hotel. Clean spacious rooms, better than average fitness center and large heated indoor pool. Only complaints...pool hours too restrictive; no free continental breakfast. Restaurant on premises has adequate buffet breakfast for $8. Would definitely recommend.

Every time I go to Williamsburg I can count on A clean room and Good meal at this Clarion Hotel. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The Pool is an extra bonus and being between Colonial Williamsburg and Busch gardens Is so convenient.

The whole place smells musty, especially the first floor. Also the people at the front desk were rude and not helpful. The only positive is that it is pet friendly. Will not be using this place again.

Room Tip: Do not take a room on the first floor. Musty, moldy odors throughout the floor

The hotel has a great location, but is in need of a major upgrade. The room was clean overall, but worn out and had some issues like a broke toilet paper holder, mold in shower. If you are sensitive to pet smells you may want to go elsewhere as this hotel allows pets.

Thank for you review. The Hotel has plans to do room upgrades during this year's off season. We do pride ourselves on our service and cleanliness. The pet rooms are located in one area as to not distrub the rest of our guest.
Thanks again look forward to your visit next year,
Neal

We were worried because of the other reviews, but our stay was great. We stayed for 3 nights on the 4th floor. I will not bring my luggage into a room until I check everything. We walked in, the room was very clean. I carry my own Clorox wipes and spray, since I am a nut about germs, I did use them in the bathroom which was clean, but a little worn and small, but it fits the age of the hotel. We had a microwave and fridge in the room, which did take up all the outlet's, but I discovered another 1 on the base of the desk lamp, and since I travel with a 3 plug outlet I had plugs for my computer and cell phone also. The front desk staff was very helpful and nice. Everyone in housekeeping was very friendly, even if we were just walking past them in the hall.
We ate at the hotel for breakfast and the food was very good, and the staff was fun. We did not get to use the pool since all our time was spent at the parks, Busch Gardens and Water Country are within a 4 mile drive from the hotel. During our stay there they were replacing the old TV's with new LG's. I did not spend any time on the 1st floor where all the pet's are so I cannot comment on that. Nor the 2nd floor where the pool is. We are going back in a few month's, and I will be staying here when we do. It is an older hotel, so don't expect it to look like a new one.
If you want a clean, safe, friendly place to stay consider the Clarion on York Street.

Room Tip: I think the 3rd and 4th floors are the newer part of the hotel.

I stayed here for the 4th of July because they are a pet friendly hotel. I wasn't expecting much, and got just that. A simple room, clean as could be expected for a pet friendly environment, with plenty of space, although it was quite outdated and the smell of mold and mildew was overwhelming at times. If you have pets you must stay on the first floor which is convenient anyway, however the pool is also on this level which contributes I the moisture problem. Our room had an air conditioner an two dehumidifiers which helped to take the edge off the pungent odor. The only real downside was that the room do not have a refrigerator and there is not one on the premises which I thought was odd (there was a full size dresser though?). This hotel served its purpose for two nights just as I hoped-a clean place to rest after a long drive and in between activities.

I am glad you found our location and pet amenites to your liking. We have plans to make room changes and will be proceeding with them as we go. We just finished upgrading the bedding and Flat screen TVs. We are the number one pet friendly hotel on their website. Our "Pet Whisperer" Alice ensure your loved ones are cared for even when you are out having fun. Looking forward to your next visit.
Thanks,
Neal
