My family enjoyed 4 great nights in the "hotel" portion of the Marriott Manor Club. As with our previous Marriott experience in Florida the staff was first rate, friendly and accommodating and the grounds and buildings were impeccably maintained. One gripe my wife pressed me to share was that should could detect cigarette smoke odor in our room (she's got a great sniffer) - and as a "non-smoking" resort, that should be carefully considered.

We had a very nice room on the 3rd floor with a forest view, and the space was adequate for our 3 family members. My son raved about the quality of the pull out bed which had a large firm mattress.

The kitchenette was excellent and my wife enjoyed her daily coffee and we enjoyed breakfast in our room daily.

We were in town for a family reunion so did not take advantage of the many amenities but they were all on display and regularly used by hotel guests. The large pool and water play area were busy all day and the shuffleboard courts and tennis courts were also constantly in use. My son took advantage of the game room and enjoyed himself and the onsite convenience store certainly had everything we could need.

This resort is removed from the hustle and bustle of the "touristy" areas of Williamsburg, but nothing is more than a 15 minute drive away. I only wish I had the opportunity to enjoy the perfectly manicured 3 golf courses on the property - maybe the next time I'm in the area!

We own 3 weeks with Marriott and have stayed at other Vacation Club properties. Each one has its own positives. We traveled with a 6 year old and 1 year old. The big pool with separate sprinkler area was great, the outdoor shuffleboard, giant chess board, tennis courts, etc... was also well maintained and nice. The play room was ok and having a small movie theater is a really nice touch. Outdoor grill set ups were like mini kitchens and were popular. The surrounding Golf Course was nice and we had free rounds. The smaller pools were also nice for a quick dip. The thing that sets this property apart were the quality of the 2 bedroom villa. The rooms are huge with high ceilings and quality fixtures and furniture. Kitchen was well stocked. Location is ok and having a GPS is very helpful. Jamestown and Busch Gardens only 15 minutes away. Yorktown is about 30 minutes and Colonial Williamsburg about 10 minutes. You can spend a good week in the area at the resort. Only downside is the Market Place and onsite food options are not very good compared to some other Marriott Vacation Club properties. Especially since it does take at least 10 minutes to drive anywhere to bring back food.

Room Tip: Stayed in the Governors Mansion building. I would pick it again as the activity center is in the ba...

I have over 1600 nights at Marriott properties and this is the first time staying at one of their time shares. We had a single room which was pretty much standard for a Marriott room. Other family opted for a villa as there were more of them. Visited the villa and it was very nice. Plenty of room with a small kitchen well stocked, a dining area and a living room area. This plus two "wings" of sleeping quarters.
Main pool by the Colonial Commons building was very nice with a bar which was great. Not all that noisy with many children there.
The staff was very accomodating and helpful. They were able to get us an additional night even though earlier it was sold out. Everyone greeted us in the trained Marriott way. Not bad and infact it was a nice touch.
The Fords Colony Country Club is right across the street (traffic circle) and proved to be helpful as we did not see anywhere one could purchase breakfast or beverages.
Over all a great experience for a first timer, so to speak.

Room Tip: The Colonial Commons for a single room and the Independance Manor for villas is a bit from the recep...

It may be okay if you are a time share owner, but as hotel guests, we left after one night and would never go back. As platinum Marriott guests, we were put into a tiny room with one bed and our teenagers slept on a pull-out couch (we reserved well in advance with 4 guests listed). The front desk management kept repeating that they were completely booked and could not help us in any way. Marriott customer service said they would write a note and discuss the issue but it fell on deaf ears. The air conditioning unit was loud and constantly switching on/off. We arrived after 5pm when food was no longer being served by the pool. We walked over to the Marketplace which is advertised as serving meals, but found a basic shoppette. We ended up walking over to the country club and ate at Harry's, which was the one nice aspect of our stay. The food was fresh, delicious and we were met with good service. Upon our return, we walked over to the outdoor hot tub to find that it was closed so walked over to the indoor one which held brown water. We went to bed and were relieved to check in to the nearby Residence Inn the following day.

Thank you for your review of Marriott's Manor Club at Ford's Colony. We sincerely apologize your experience with us was not what you expected due to the size of the room. While the guest room does accommodate up to 4 guests, it does require that two guests utilize the sleeper sofa in the unit.

We are happy to hear Marriott's Residence Inn was able to accommodate your family while on vacation. Your feedback will be shared with the resort leadership and we appreciate the time you took to provide us your comments.

The accommodations and grounds were terrific. The service as usual for Marriott were exceptional. We were very disappointed in the food at the golf clubhouse. It was not to the standard I would expect from a place so beautiful. The food and service not really good. Even the atmosphere was much to be desired. Sorry.

We are used to staying in nicer hotels.. this complex exceeded our expectations for a vacation rental. We stayed for 1 week with our 3 kids and loved the experience. Spacious rooms; well-stocked kitchens; and the grounds are mature and lovely.

Great hotel with so much to do on site. We were so busy in Williamsburg we just didn't have enough time to enjoy the hotel properly. We would definitely go back!! I would recommend the outlets, colonial Williamsburg but thought the water park was a waste, really expensive for what it was.
