“Clean and convenient”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2012

We have stayed here at least 5 or 6 times over the past couple years. It's always been fine for our visits to Busch Gardens. Definitely not for high-maintenance, fancy-hotel lovers! It's old and plain, but CLEAN, which is my one requirement--spotless bathroom and bed, even for two germaphobes like us. Check-in/out are easy, staff is nice, breakfast is enough (coffee, fruit, donuts, etc.), there's a mini-fridge, and the location is perfect for visiting the park. It's an easy drive to town too, and it's across from a cheap Mexican restaurant, and just down the road from convenience stores, gas stations, and some fast food. We've never paid more than $50 for a night. Perfect if you just need a clean, convenient place to sleep.

My husband and I planned a road trip which started in Boston and went to the Outerbanks in N.C. We planned on staying 2 nights in Williamsburg, VA. One night was all we could bare. I have to say the family that owned the hotel were so nice, but the place was just disgusting. I couldn't sleep a wink. We walked into our room and it smelled of cat urine/amonia so bad my eyes watered. I ran to 7-11 and bought a can of febreeze and spayed the entire can, as well as leaving the door open to try and move the stench. Nothing worked and we sufficed to stay one night. We awoke to a screeching sound which turned out to be a palmetto bug (i.e. cockroach!)....it was just horrible and luckily our house rental owner let us come a night early to OBX, we couldn't wait to get out of Virgina!!! Oh, they also credited us the second night...

We stayed here on a trip with the grandkids to Busch Gardens - two rooms. The chair seats were torn, worn and stained. Bathroom was clean but this place was so old, needs updating REALLY bad. Room was clean but there was a smell that seemed to be everywhere. Never saw the cont breakfast, pool was so nasty - there was a black greasy ring about 6 inches wide around the whole pool. This seems more line a week or more long term rental from what we say - lots of construction workers and what looked like restaurant workers staying there. Foreign owned, not well maintained at all. Was an ok place to just sleep but we won't be back for sure. Located near enough to Busch Gardens but on loud street and not in the best part of town.

Nice family inn with decent pool. Comfortable mattress, pillows totally void of any substance, we always bring our own pillows. Easiest check in.

We had a reservation for two nights but only stayed one. The hotel is conveniently located to Busch Gardens and the staff was very nice. They even showed us on a map the quick way to get to the park to bypass the traffic.

Their remodelled bathroom was very nice. The rest of the room needed updating. The door to the room needed replacing as it was a little beat up looking and there was a wide gap between the door and frame at the bottom.

The beds need replacing as they are fairly old and uncomfortable. There also needs to be new pillows as these were quite worn and a little flat.

The parking was pretty good and it was easy to get in and out of the parking lot.

The place was pretty quiet. There is a train track near by and I did hear the train go by at about 7pm but it was silent after that.

Also, though there is WiFi, it's a little difficult to get connected. We eventually did, but it took a while.

I think next time I'll pay a little more for some luxury but if you are cutting dollars and don't mind, this is an ok place to go.

We are budget conscience and know to expect to get what you pay for but this place was disgusting. The heavy odor of smoke, Cigarette burns everywhere and ashtrays that had not been empty in our "clean and ready" room. Furnishings that had not been cleaned in decades, a bathroom accessible through a narrow dark stairwell down to a bathroom so small you had to be a contortionist to use it - and do I need to say how decrepit it's condition?

Oh - and as for the "continental breakfast"...a jug of Sunny Delight, a box of Dunkin Donuts and a pot of coffee in the cramped registration office.

This made for a memorable trip to the Williamsburg area.

This is the place to stay if you want a clean, quite room for not a lot of money. The rooms are a good size and again very clean! The only complaint was the air conditioner was noisy, but you do get use to it and it did cool the room well, and it was very hot in VA when we were there. The breakfast is served in the small lobby, really no where to eat there, so you have to take it back to your room and there are not hot items, it is just cereal, donuts, coffee, etc., but it worked for us. The only other amenities are an outdoor pool and there is an ice machine near the pool. Overall, I would stay here again, if on a budget!
