We visited Kingsmill as part of a family vacation. The staff was wonderful. It seemed as though everyone we met was trying to make our stay the best it could be. Every once in a while we would hit a small snag but the staff corrected any short coming immediately and usually above and beyond anything we could have dreamed of. The people that worked on the resort were fabulous. We truly felt that we were special guests. Our room was nicely appointed clean and well kept up. It was particularly nice to have so many amenities available to us and the shuttle worked out great. The pools were nice and there were many activities to keep us busy. You almost didn't need to leave. I would highly recommend this to families and groups that wanted lots of options in one location.

Just returned from a two-night stay at Kingsmill and had a great time! We were in the area for an event at Langley AFB, and Kingsmill looked like it had a great pool (important when traveling with 5 and 6 year olds) and was only about 30 minutes away. It's very, very close to Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, etc. The pool complex with lazy river was terrific! We spent 3 hours there Friday evening and had dinner at the little pool bar, another 3 hours there Saturday morning, and 4 hours this morning. My kids couldn't get enough of the lazy river and tubes and gentle water slide. The service was very good, the views of the James River were gorgeous, and the kids loved getting from our room to the pool via golf cart (which came within 2-3 minutes every time we called for one). Didn't play golf, but from what we saw, it's a beautiful course. Easy to drive off the property for Starbucks for breakfast. Our room was nice - the outside of the buildings looks dated but the inside seems fairly recently renovated. The kids' pull-out mattress was the most comfortable I've ever felt. We'll definitely be returning for another quick get-away next summer!

Short and sweet. The room we had was amazing in size. There was some maintenance in the bathroom with the fixtures that needed to be done but still functional. The made a special shuttle bus run to Williamsburg because we missed the original shuttle. This was just offered by the hotel and was not expected. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it.

I worried this might be boring for the kids, but overall we had a great stay here. The other reviews are accurate -- it's beautiful, the golf is nice, the restaurants were all good, my kids loved the pools and getting ice cream at The Mill. My spa experience was *okay* but I bet it will improve after they open their remodeled location. Our suite was larger than my first two apartments. The friendly staff act like they want to be there -- which is great. The only change I'd make next time is not pay for the Family Fun Package. We never utlized the marina-related activities, and I had to drag the kids out of bed before 10 to go eat the very nice breakfast that came with the package. We've been to the mulitple Xanterra resorts and this one as as good as the rest.

Room Tip: We had a "pond view" which was basically not a view. I might pay extra to get an actual r...

Late Review - Stayed here in 2011 with 19 other golfers from the UK on an international tour. Accommodation was fantastic, service was very good and the facilities were second to none. Tony Nicholls our Resort rep did everything he could to possibly help where required. Kingsmill's location is ideal as a base for golfing in this area, as well as having two superb golf courses on-site. Would highly reccommend.

We've been visiting Kingsmill at least once in each of the past few years and it just keeps getting better. To start with, the rooms are first class with nice furnishings and luxuriously outfitted beds. My wife and I loved the water flow in the shower and the dispensers for Shampoo, Conditioned, and Body Soap. But the grounds are what really set Kingsmill apart. The rolling hills, lush, well kept greenery, and the banks of the James River just make me relax.

Our kids like going too - there is so much to do. The addition of the Lazy River and water slides is the current highlight for them but they also like the indoor and outdoor resort pools also. They also like the playgrounds and exploring the banks of the river. This last trip, we rented a pair of paddle boards at the Marina and every one of us got to try it out. It is nice that we can take the Kingsmill bus to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg - just adds to the relaxation because we don't have to worry about traffic and parking.

We like to eat at the marina restaurant. Sometimes we just order a bunch of appetizers with drinks and watch the sunset from the deck. This past time, we had a nice outside table on the deck. We had drinks and entrees for dinner while listening to live music and watching a world cup game on the TV above the bar right behind us. It was a beautiful evening and a nice finish to a nice visit.

Room Tip: As for River View room
