“Peace and serenity!”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

We stayed here the second week of August, and had a very restful time. We came down after a week in Washington DC, and were looking for a quiet end to our vacation. We stayed in one of the cottages on the River, and it was worth every penny! My sons and I enjoyed jet skiing and kayaking. The grounds are beautiful and the staff was very friendly where ever we went. I would totally recommend staying at this lovely resort.

We enjoyed this resort very much. The suites were very clean, the restaurant was excellent. The package included Busch Gardens, Water Country USA and Colonial Williamsburg. It was awesome to park the car and utilize the shuttle buses to and from the parks. My only complaint was the the distance between our room and the big pool/lazy river. I was uncomfortable letting my 13 year old walk to and from that pool alone. The staff was very courteous-especially the young man who drove 7 of us around in a golf cart after dinner one evening.

Some staff members are very rude. If your room is not near the river or the marina the view will be horrible. Personally, the only thing I enjoyed was tv access but I already have that at home! Overall this trip was a waste of time.

We stayed at this resort with the family. Great service. Great hospitality. Good food. The drivers that escort you are all very nice. There is one driver in particular that is the best and his name is athanasius ( art ). Look him up when your there.

One of my best friends and I recently took our kids to Kingsmill Resort, Busch Gardens, and did the Williamsburg experience. The kids had an absolute blast. The lazy river is awesome, the sports center is pretty cool, the fitness center is awesome, and the free breakfast was good as well. My boys and I stayed in a suite on the golf course. The best part about the stay was the staff, who was caring, attentive, and always on-time. Partcularly, Athanasius was a true gentleman and was great fun to be around. He seems to legitimately enjoy his job and helping people. Thank you Art, the bellman, on behalf of the Zorbaugh and Wright families. Don't forget to eat at the James River Marina. The seafood is great and the view is even better.

To say that Kingsmill is overwhelming might be an understatement. Whether you're here for the amazing golf experience, to use the marina, to spend a relaxing day at the spa, or just to relax surrounding your day in Colonial Williamsburg or Busch Gardens, you can not go wrong at Kingsmill. The accommodations are spacious (although I wish that every unit had a refrigerator) and very comfortable. Travel time to the surrounding tourist area is minimal, and when you are on the grounds, you can totally unwind and relax. You will enjoy your stay here.

We are a family of 4 with 2 college-age children. We stayed at this resort back in 2008 and loved it so we returned. The resort is beautiful with gorgeous flowers and landscape. The rooms are spacious with modern beautiful bathrooms. The staff is very friendly always giving a smile and saying hello. We had the breakfast buffet with our package and it was one of the best we've had. I highly recommend it. They have free door to door shuttle serve to the parks which is worth staying there alone. And the location is extremely close to all parks. Since we were there only three nights and went to 3 different parks, we didn't do much at the hotel. One complaint we had is that after returning from the parks (almost at closing) we wanted to go to the pool to relax but they close at 9 p.m.. We were extremely disappointed in this as most hotel pools stay open until 11. So we never went to the pool. Since this is a resort, we would also expect queen size beds. This resort offers only double beds. We were in building #12 and paid more money to have the river view. That probably wasn't necessary this time as we were only in the room to sleep. If the resort cannot afford to replace all double beds with queen beds, perhaps offer them in the rooms where you pay extra for the river view. The extra amount of money to see the river is probably not worth it but with 4 adults, the bed upgrade would be! They have non-removable shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles attached to the shower. I suggest you bring your own as the shampoo is TERRIBLE. We could not get our hair clean especially after the water park.

Room Tip: Pick the river view if you plan to spend time at the hotel. If you plan to go to Busch Gardens or a...
