I enjoyed my stay here because the spa and the Williamsburg historical sites are literally *RIGHT THERE.* Except for transport to and from the airport, there's no reason for a car at all. I felt very safe walking around the hotel, the spa and the site after dark, too. The proximity alone made for a relaxing trip.
The buildings have wide, long hallways but small guest rooms, which didn't bother me because it's reminiscent of the architecture of centuries gone by. The furniture and the artwork in the room were lovely. I would have preferred more -- and thicker -- pillows on the bed, but that's really a small negative.
The hotel's restaurant is nice, but always full. Fortunately the bar has decent food service -- though the menu isn't very extensive -- and there's always room service.More
