The Lodge is not as snooty as the Inn (where the Queen stayed) but the best choice in the area for couples who are more interested in the historic area than Busch Gardens. It has a good restaurant and bar, gist shop and underground parking. The profits go to the up-keep of the historic area. Don not stay at one of the many off-site hotles/motels unless you are on a ral budget and have a bunch of kids. The Lodge is THE place to stay and they have a bus that takes you to Yorktown and Jamestown too.

We decided on a whim to go to Williamsburg to spend the rest of our vacation after a heat wave and bad hotel experience in Washington DC. Williamsburg Lodge was a pleasant surprise. We found it on the internet and booked by phone. We arrived in the dark, which I don't recommend because it's dark driving on what seemed like back streets and its somewhat disorienting because there are a lot of buildings. Getting into a room at the front desk was quick and painless, finding it was a little difficult but it may have been because we were tired and disoriented in the dark. We had a deluxe room, which was awesome for the price; huge and roomy with lots of space to spread out, nice sized comfortable beds, looked and smelled clean, nice bathroom with the most awesome spa products (I called and ordered some when I got home), a porch with chairs to sit out on in the morning. The rooms could use some renovation but we understood they were trying to keep with the colonial theme; tvs and bathtub could be updated. Internet is not accessible out there, and cell phone service is off and on. Awesome restraunt with the best breakfast buffet I've seen in a long time - great food, everything you could imagine, fairly reasonable price considering what's available. They have an awesome staff that explains everything, and everything is a little overwhelming if you arrive not knowing what the place is. Everyone we ran into that worked with the hotel were very friendly and pleasant. There is a whole colonial village and some other events that you buy tickets to and you can walk from the lodge; If you're into history and have kids with you who need to get out and mess around it's kind of fun. The only disappointment is we were looking for battle reinactments and never quite found those.....might be because this part of the trip was on a whim and we didn't plan it out well....didn't have but 2 nights there. This was a great getaway place and I liked it better than being in DC.

Stayed here for a business trip. The room was nicely sized, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with a nice selection of toiletries. I took advantage of room service twice. They were timely and the food was excellent even though pricey with the delivery charge.

The Lodge had a comfortable, laid back feel to it. It is very convenient for exploring Colonial Williamsburg as you are in walking distance of the sites. I was not able to take advantage of the spa this time, but hear it is wonderful and hope to hit it the next time I come back.

We decided to take a quick weekend in Williamsburg to enjoy the fall season but it was a last-minute decision to go. When we booked a room we ended up staying at the Williamsburg Lodge - not our usual hotel. Your first impression as the doorman greets you and opens the lobby entrance door for you is one of hospitality and welcoming. The lobby is very large with beautiful furnishings that invite you to come, sit and relax ............ which we did during our stay! The room was very large with a sitting area, hidden refrigerator and a bed that was very, very comfortable. The room offers a full-size coffee pot with great mugs for enjoying a leisure start to the day. The breakfast buffet offered far more than we could eat at a sitting. The location of the hotel was ONE BLOCK from the historic area which makes it so easy to visit the area many times a day. We enjoyed the outdoor farmer's market in the morning, the museum and the historic sites in the afternoon and a music program in the evening............... and it was all within an easy walk from our hotel which gave us more opportunity to enjoy the fall weather. They offer a restaurant with a fireplace for meals or a lounge area for something light so all your needs are right there. From the friendly staff, the added attention to details in the rooms and the great location it all adds up to a most enjoyable stay for singles, couples or families! We plan on booking at the Lodge the next time!

We had requested a quiet room away from noises such as street and elevators but were given a room right on the street ! Once we were given a new room (which took a while), the rest of the stay went well as the location is great and the staff, other than the bad start, was very nice. The most negative part of the Lodge is the restaurant as quality of both food and service at dinner is poor for such a high-end place.

The Williamsburg Lodge is Part of the Colonial Williamsburg Fdn. hospitality group. It is very conveniently located to Colonial Williamsburg and the staff were lovely. However, the rooms are about the quality of a Quality Inn or Comfort Inn - for 2-3 times the price. Bathrooms are old and they were not as clean as I would have liked (hair in the tub). Beds are hard, as are the pillows. We stayed here as a part of a large group, otherwise I would have gone elsewhere.

From the moment we pulled up to the door we felt the warmth and welcoming hospitality of this hotel. The bell men's friendly inquiring of our trip was not rehearsed but sincere.
The front desk staff efficiently, yet frienly and professionally, checked us in, providing clear and understandable directions to our room. They were ready for us and happy to have us as their guests.
The lobby is welcoming and warm, decoreated with true period furnishings.
The rooms are cozy yet well appointed in the colonial style. They are tastefully done, not overly done. The beds were wonderful, rooms very clean and lovely.
The restaurant is wonderful. The food well prepared and presented. The wait staff attentive yet not hovering.
This is definitly a place to revisit and to create great family memories.
