A friend and I were lucky enough to stay here for 3 nights in April in the Washington Cottage-separate from the main house, just a short walk away. The cottage allowed us to have our own rooms with comfy beds and period furnishings but updated amenities and privacy. The current innkeeper and his father ( the former innkeeper), a retired veterinarian are so easy to talk to, knowledgeable about history, and good with their recommendations. Breakfasts were okay but meeting others staying at an inn is always an adventure. We met a family from Germany at our first morning breakfast and a more local couple our other mornings. See the website for breakfast offerings. The friendly dogs and cows in the pasture added to the welcoming feeling. Attractions and restaurants are easy to get to from this location. I think you will be pleased with a stay here !
