This location is in a great location to visit colonial williamsburg its a short walk over the bridge. This is definitely a kid centric location the grounds are large and there's a pool but its outdoors and not heated. We played on the mini-golf course but some of the holes are well lit at night.

We stayed in a standard room and there is in room WI-FI. i didn't request any particular room but we got a very nice view from our room. There is a breakfast buffet downstairs that is similar to a crazy cattle call. Its loud and busy. We went down to grab plates of food and took it upstairs where it wasn't so overwhelming. We ate in the pizzeria Huzzah on site it was much more laid back. The drive to Busch Gardens is very short.

Its a good place to stay with kids especially if you will be doing any of the Colonial Williamsburg attractions. Parking is free so its nice to not have to worry about loading to car to park closer.

I went with my 2 children ages 4 and 7 and another family with same aged children. The location is great for visiting colonial/historic area. You can go and return to the hotel and go back again easily. There is an outdoor pool but it's not heated so if this is a necessity summer months are better. The staff was great. Breakfast is buffet and good assortment of fruits, yoghurt, pastries, etc.

Very nice accomodations for price point. Walked to restored area each day. Terrific for pet owners with lovely grounds. Entrance to rooms could be more welcoming with a couple of chairs. Very clean rooms. Would love to see the motel more actively marketed.

We had a suite, which included a living room with couch, two padded chairs, small dining table and TV and bedroom also with TV and comfortable bed. Our room looked out on the courtyard. The place was full of families with children, but quiet at night. Nice continental breakfast included in price with biscuits and sausage gravy one day, eggs and sausage the next. The breakfast room was packed both days we ate and had to cruise for a table. The hotel is well maintained and the staff helpful. Next time, we might upgrade to the Williamsburg Lodge so we wouldn't have to wait en masse for the shuttle. Can only imagine how many must be there in the summer. Enjoyed Colonial Williamsburg, but would recommend waiting until April 1 or after as all but one of the taverns (period restaurants) were closed. Also, weather was cold and windy.

During Feb. 2011 my husband & I stayed with our dog at the Cascades. What a jewel in the rough, just waiting for pets & their owners...as a earlier reviewer in 2008 described, the interiors of the rooms are just like cabins in the woods & with marvelous floor-to-ceiling bay windows overlooking a wooded courtyard. The difference is that these windows ARE NOT overlooking the walk outside to other rooms, with other guests passing by, & necessitating keeping the draperies pulled for privacy. These rooms have a very special ambience. with the beaded board wall paneling. The one thing that is needed is renovations & expansion to the bathrooms.

Everything about Williamsburg and my stay at the Woodlands was wonderful. The hotel staff was very friendly, and our room had a subtle contemporary feel with lovely colonial accents. The hotel felt very secluded and safe (unlike the average hustle and bustle hotels of vacation getaways) For the first time ever I saw a very large, free roaming herd of deer peacefully grazing near a quiet road, it was all quite magical.
