Very interesting, not a lot to see but what is there is great, opens 10 am, leads into the museum which is great. The admission is included in your colonial williamsburg ticket.

Interesting but very small. Located at the end of Colonial Williamsburg nearest Merchant Square. It is also the entrance to the art museum.

There is a small display of rooms and descriptions of what the treatment of people with mental illness was like. You do not need to spend a long time here but it was interesting.

This museum was used as a hospital during the civil war,and contains lots of relics and pictures.
Ask for a guide to tell of its use during occupation by both sides in war.

Interesting artifacts and an exceptionally well done museum of mental health treatment in early Virginia. There is a café on the lower level that serves soup, salads, and sandwiches for lunch. We enjoyed it on a very hot day because it was clean and cool inside.
