“Hard to find but worth it”
Reviewed 23 March 2014

This is a small upscale establishment tucked away on the grounds of the Williamsburg Winery. It's very difficult to find at night but once you're there, it's very welcoming. Our server was friendly and attentive, as well as all of the other staff members. The ambiance was very charming with mood lighting and fresh flowers at the table. The meal started with a nice bread basket, my favorite being the cranberry orange bread which is a nice change of pace to the typical bread baskets you usually find. Our server then brought us a complimentary amuse bouche of pickled shitake mushroom on a toasted crostini. We ordered the scallop appetizer for $16. It came with two well cooked scallops, although I did expect to see another scallop or two. My husband and I both ordered nightly specials. Veal cheek for him ($35) and rockfish for me ($34). He liked the veal enough, but he was underwhelmed with the preparation. I loved the rockfish which included two hearty, thick fillets served over gnocchi, asparagus, and roasted tomatoes in a lemon cream sauce- delicious. We were too full for dessert but were given complimentary tastings of the house specialty chestnut ice cream. Overall it was an enjoyable upscale meal with attentive service.

“Best dining experience in memory”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

Expensive, but worth every penny. You get what you pay for. Truly a wonderful, perfect dinning experience. Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. I cannot wait to go back. Go early to be served the drinks of your choice by the wood fireplace in the library.

“Very nice meal”
Reviewed 15 February 2014

Celebrated an early a Valentines dinner with my wife. Food was quite good and service was adequate but why must the waiter exclaim..."whoa, you must have really liked your entree" when clearing an empty plate? Anyone else find this annoying?

“Excellent food, service needs work”
Reviewed 7 January 2014

The chef is Israeli and does a fantastic job with a variety of cuisines. We went on New Years Eve for a 5-course wine pairing dinner. It was early and not crowded so it's difficult to blame service problems on holiday busy. There was a huge lag from when we were seated and when the drinks arrived. Courses came out slowly at first, then faster later. It just wasn't smooth. But if you are not in a hurry, the food makes this worth a visit.

“Over rated”
Reviewed 5 January 2014

What you will encounter is very tight dining conditions, EXTREMELY long wait times for service & small portions.
The waiter(s) staff moved at a pace that made you wonder if you were on a tv prank show. I guess when the gratuity is built in that time was on there side. By the way, our meal took a painful 3hours!
Fool me once.....
