“Outstanding Family Fun”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

What a wonderful place to have a family reunion. We are a family that loves to get together, but not everyone likes to camp, so the lodges, cabins and tent sites made it possible for all of us to vacation at our own level, but still be together.
Thanks Williamsburg KOA for the perfect spot for our family to meet and enjoy so many childhood memories, along with sticky s'more fingers!

This will be our fourth year going to Williamsburg KOA. From the staff to the grounds, to the other campers, to the tons of activities to do nearby, we have no complaints. We vacation here yearly with our entire family, from my 80 year old grandmother to my two toddlers who started staying at 9month/2 years old. While Colonial Williamsburg was king of a one trick pony for us, we love the amusement parks and the local nature parks as well. We stay in the deluxe cabins for a week, so much nicer than a hotel. They are clean, have everything you could need in them including linens, and some are pet friendly. The campground has tons of activities during the summer, a great pool, a brand new splash park, etc. This campground has forever made us KOA campers, and while we try new ones every year, we always come back to Williamsburg.

We stayed 2 nights tent camping here and for the most part it was good. We did have a fair amount of beer bottlecaps and some glass to clean up before setting up our tent, however. Also, we had to go to Walmart to buy a cooking grate for the fire ring as there was no charcoal grills provided. On a more pleasant note the pool was very nice and we enjoyed the evening outdoor movie. It's also nice that the camp has activities that kids and adults alike can participate together in such as tie-dyeing t-shirts. The camp store was nice and also sells tickets to area attractions. There is a very convenient shuttle bus that picks up in the morning at the camp store and drops you at the Williamsburg Visitors center where you can take other shuttles to various local attractions. At the end of the day you hop back on the KOA shuttle where they drop you off. Overall a nice camp, staff were all friendly and helpful, bathrooms and showers were clean, plenty of things to do. My only "complaint" would be the amount of cleanup we had to do before pitching our tent, but if the campers before us would have been responsible and considerate it wouldn't have happened.

Our location in the the campground was perfect. Close to the bathroom and pool / splash park. They advertise a heated pool but it wasnt all that warm. They just use the solar blankets to heat it which doesnt do a good job! The price was good (we bought a groupon). The free pancake breakfast was nice too. Our daughter enjoyed the Tshirt tyedyeing. Overall a nice little place for a quick getaway.

Thank you so much for camping with us and sharing about your stay. We're glad you enjoyed your time with us. We actually heat our pool with an eco-friendly wood-fired furnace, but by June we diminish it's use as the warm weather moves in. Thanks again for staying with us and we hope to see you again soon.

If you are looking for a place to park your rig for a few days while touring the Williamsburg to Virginia Beach area, this KOA will do well for you. Right off I-64, and away from highway noise, the sites work well for most rigs, although the larger motorhomes have it a little too tight. However, this KOA is not for those looking for an idyllic wooded and private escape. The emphasis at this campground is maximum utilization of acreage, so plan on being able to watch your neighbor's TV.

Room Tip: If you are 36' or longer and towing, request a site close to the entrance. The sites and turns i...

Thank you for camping with us and sharing helpful information for other campers. We have recently put in spacious new patio sites that grant plenty of room for even the largest of motorhomes. We appreciate your business. Come see us again soon.

The campground overall is nice. Good pool, clean bathrooms and a great jumping pillow for kids. If staying request a site in the Colonial section. The sites in this area look nicer. They actually have grass and gravel. We sere in the Williamsburg section and for $84.00 a night our site was a pile of dirt. There is some construction going on in that section so maybe they are looking to improve it? Would not stay again based on price and quality of our site. Staff were friendly and helpful and they were nice enough to let us check out late. For the price we paid I expect a nicer camp site.
