Lots of interesting and unique pieces. This museum is part of the larger museum complex, well worth visiting. Even our 9 year old liked it!

Appearances are quite deceiving here! The building that one enters belies the size and scope of this museum. Entrance greeter was friendly and helpful. The gift shop was interesting, and I notice hand crafted scherenschnitte (paper cuttings) that were exquisite. The folk art is so varied and whimsical. This is great place to catch your breath and get out of the weather.

Go for the amazing quilts on display, but don't miss the folk portraits, the pottery or the "Tramp" art! We couldn't see it all in one day.

There is a great portrait section as well as a few other sections. I really enjoy Folk Art so I would love to have seen more but it was worth it. I did a tour and you always get more from doing that.

This place has everything from ship's figureheads and carousel animals to funny signs, to quilts and cross-stitch samplers to a wooden rhinoceros with a phonograph inside. Quite a number of early American paintings, too.
