Owner description: Bruton Parish Church is open daily to visitors with or without a Colonial Williamsburg admission ticket. A donation of one dollar per person is gratefully accepted to go toward upkeep of the church and churchyard. This is the third building in the history of Bruton Parish, in continuous use since 1715. All are welcome to attend a brief service of noonday prayer during the week, and Sunday services, held at 7:30, 9:15, and 11:15 am and 5:30 pm. Bruton Parish Church is an active congregation of the Episcopal Church, therefore we close for tours during weddings, funerals or scheduled services.

This historic church drips with history of Washington, Jefferson and a host of the Founding Fathers and early worship of the one true God. We visit whenever we are in the area and it takes us back to the roots. Then over to Jamestown. And don't forget the ferry ride to Smithfield, VA one of our favorite pass times. You'll be glad you did. Check out Capt. John Smith's fort remains on the other side. Not easy to fine, but worth the trip. It's free. Money back if you're not satisfied ;)

...but worth every minute of your time. This place was fascinating. From the church yard cemetery to the pulpit, look at everything and read all the inscriptions. The staff are great too. Be generous with your contribution and visit the store in the shopping area.

You don't have to buy a ticket for the Colonial Williamsburg experience to see this old church. It's in the center of the colonial area and a half block walk from the closest parking area. Sit in the same pews where our forefathers worshipped! And don't miss the gift shop just up the street. Wonderful items at great prices!

We love Bruton Parish Church and have visited several times throughout the years on visits. Most recently, we took our little ones through the outdoor space. The beautiful grounds and historic gravestones are quite interesting. If you have a stroller, best leave it at the curb though. The cobblestones are a bit uneven.

We actually went to one of their Sunday services last year. If you have little ones, call ahead to make sure they have a Sunday School for your kiddos' age group.
