Applewood Colonial Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #7 of 21 Williamsburg B&B and Inns
Reviewed 23 January 2013

May I start by saying the inn is walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and Colonial Williamsburg. This convenience was the attraction for our selection of this B&B. To our surprise we found the hospitality of the proprieters to be very engaging.
Our room ( Blue room) was inviting with numerous amenities. The bath was clean and nicely decorated. The linens and towels would appeal to the discriminating taste of world class travelers. We had a bountiful breakfast and great conversation with our host and will be back for another visit.
To those who seek a special time in Williamsburg, Applewood Colonial B&B will provide a unique stay.
Denise & Monty, Thank you for providing a wonderful experience.

A stay in Williamsburg has to include staying at Applewood. Denise and Monty welcomed us and made us feel right at home. The breakfasts were wonderful especially the Peach French Toast. The Tree Top Suite was very nice. We really enjoyed the fireplace. Loved the fresh baked cookies in the evening!!!! We will be back!!!! Larry and Judy

Room Tip: Book early!!!!!

We stayed at the Applewood for two nights and had a lovely time. Denise & Monty were great hosts and the breakfasts were delicious. We were also impressed with the comfort of the beds and the softness of the sheets. The first night we stayed in the Blue Room. The room was cozy and comfortable. The second night we stayed in the attic Treetop Suite. The suite is spacious and we enjoyed the bedroom fireplace. The bathrooms are old fashioned and petite but clean. We enjoyed our stay with these friendly innkeepers, who went out of their way to see that we were satisfied.

The Applewood Colonial B & B is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Williamsburg. Walking distance from Colonial section, close to restaurants and other attractions. The hosts are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and make you feel like family. Breakfasts are wonderful as are the fresh baked cookies in the evening. Stay here and you won't be disappointed.

My mother and I enjoyed four nights and four wonderful morning meals at Applewood while touring Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. Besides being a fab cook, Denise is a charming hostess full of tips for where and when to visit the historic sites plus modern day restaurants and shopping. The house and gardens are a lovely prelude to the historic districts, a comfortable bridge from present day to colonial times. We stayed in the Tree Top, under the rafters, charming with a small well-appointed bath. Breakfasts featured a savory egg dish, wonderful bacon, fresh fruit and something baked, such as palmieres or banana tea cake. Perfect fuel for a day full of walking while sightseeing!

My husband and I first stayed here in April of 2010 for our honeymoon. It was one of the many places we stayed during our two week road trip but it was by far our favorite. We are actually returning for a second stay this coming February with friends and simply can not wait. The rooms are quaint, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the breakfast is beyond delicious! The location is perfect - we didn't move our car once! Everything is in walking distance or a short trolley ride away. The price is a bargain! I really can't say enough good things about this B&B. I strongly recommend it!

Room Tip: Twin Elms is my favorite!
