“Had an issue, but will be back”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 May 2011

This is really a great hotel. Location is great. Right off the highway, restaurants/gas stations nearby, and a grocery store right there.

Check-in was easy, and the help (believe their names were Julie and Adam) was great. Said we were hungry, and they told us our room key would get us 10% off in the restaurants in the plaza right there. Said Foster's Grille was good (it was-read review) so we went there.

The rooms are great. We only stayed for a place to sleep, but they have a nice kitchen (everything but oven), a pull out sofa, and an extremely comfortable bed.

The next morning we went for the continental breakfast, and it was great. Waffles, danishes, muffin sandwiches, juice, yogurt, cereal, etc. I think this is the best continental breakfast I've ever seen.

The whole hotel was also extremely clean. No issues at all with cleanliness. Even the breakfast room was kept up with well. Wasn't all that crowded, although, most tables were take, and everything was stocked/cleaned.

Only issue, this is a pet friendly hotel. Got up to our room on 2nd floor, and heard dogs (yes, not dog, dogS) barking. My parents stayed here a month ago and said they couldnt sleep until 3/4 am because a dog was barking till then. I wasn't going for that. I went to the front desk and told them of the issue, and my parents previous stay, and they moved me to a 3rd floor room on the opposite side of the hotel (said they try to keep dogs on floor 1).

Julie and Adam were both very understanding and helpful. They moved us with no issue, and they said they called the owner of the dog to come back. I don't blame the hotel here. I don't have pets, but understand they are important to people. I have no problem with a pet friendly hotel, I have a problem with IDIOTS who know their dogs don't like being alone and they leave them alone in a hotel room.

All in all it was a great stay. I will definately be back, as I travel that way a few times a year. I do, however, worry that sometime in the summer I'll get there and won't be able to be moved and have to hear a barking dog all night (since it happened to my parents and myself).

Just keep in mind they take pets. Other than the people who leave their pets alone in their room, it's a great place that has everything you need and extremely comfortable beds.

Room Tip: Stay on top floor as pets are kept lower

I stayed at Towneplace Suite Winchester VA for a night with my family and I wished that I'd stayed longer. The rooms were clean and had a fully equiped kitchen including forks and knives. There's no doubt that the room is one of the best I'd expect from a 2 1/2 star hotel. Actually, I think it's better than most of the 4 star hotels I've experienced.
There's a shopping mall within walking distance, complementary breakfast and coffee. It's definitely worth every penny spent.

Newer Towneplace Suites in a great location. Hotel walls were very thin. We heard dogs barking throughout the hotel before bedtime. Worse thing was hearing people walking above our room due to thin floors. Get a room on the top floor if possible. Other than that, employees were extremely friendly and there were lots of eateries and shops around including a nice Starbucks and a classic custard ice cream shop down the street.

Room Tip: Request Top Floor.

We stayed here for one month and found the accommodations to be very nice. The rooms are roomy and there is a decent kitchen to cook in. Beds are comfortable. Air/heat units are good. The windows also open a few inches which is nice to allow fresh air in the rooms.

For us, the noise level seemed fairly high as we could hear the people on both sides and even below at times. We do not recommend staying here if you are working nights and need to sleep during the day or have family members staying here during the day as housekeeping is quite noisy allowing the doors to slam all day long and after a while this can become very annoying. Even after asking them several times to muffle the noise with a towel or stopper, they continued to slam the doors.

If you are traveling with children or pets this is a great place to stay because of the room sizes. The breakfast is substantial with waffles and breakfast sandwiches, bagels, muffins, juices, etc. The kitchen area and tables are very clean.

We would stay here again but for only one night at a time.

Like other Towneplace Suites, this new property gives good value for price paid. Located at exit #315 off of I-81 it is 2 minutes from the exit and adjacent to a couple of small restaurants, a grocery store and gas station. The gas station is comparable to others in the area with an October rate of $2.69 per gallon. Winchester itself is one exit away at exit 313A. Here you can find many restaurants and the Apple Blossom Mall.
Breakfast at the hotel is a mix of Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches, fruits, breads and muffins.
The staff personnal were all very accommodating.
The room of course has a full size refrigerator, cook top stove (burners only), microwave and coffee maker.
The swimming pool is outdoors only.
We would stay here again.

Whenever in the are and accomodation is needed, this brand new TownePlace property is a good catch. The rooms are new and fresh looking. The staff is helpful and nice and its position is behind an industrial park with limited noise. However it is only 3 minutes drive from Interstate 81 and Highway 17. They offer complimentary continental breakfast which is basic. But there's a big supermarket and a Starbucks in the very near area, so there a options. I recommend this place

I will stay here again because staff was helpful and the property is in a good location. But it does have a patio in front of the hotel which attracts loud guests who can disturb people trying to sleep in the rooms directly above. Smart management would remove the tables which makes this a gathering place in the summer months for inconsiderate people who drink and become loud. Get a room in the back or you may not sleep.
