I find that Laurelwood has great beer and somewhat overpriced but quality food. The Battle Ground pub is located in a relatively new shopping area that has overall sputtered. Most of the stores are up for lease/sale, however Laurelwood doesn't seem to lack customers. Their beer is the highlight for me.

There food is certainly not bad, but really a bit pricey for what you get. Though I have never left hungry, their entrees are just that with a side. No soup or salad and again pricey. This Battle Ground brewpub is still a gem though. It's certainly worth a try at least once.

We arrived right at opening. No one else was waiting at all and we had a party of 7 with us. We were seated right away, then 4 other parties showed up. Two parties of 2 and two parties of 4. Our order was taken first after some lengthy wait for our waitress to return after our drink orders. Food was taken out to all the other guests while we continued to wait for ours. As we watched the other guests begin to complete their meals, we still continued to wait for ours to be delivered. We asked the waitress why ours was taking so long since we were seeing that the others got delivered well before ours and that the other people are completing their meals. Her answer was simply, "we have a large party and the smaller parties were prepared first." Really? One, that is not a very good answer to give to your guests, and two, so what about the size of our party. You don't leave all of us sitting until the other guests are nearly complete with their meals. The manager did try to make it right by cutting a percentage off of our bill as well as offer free desserts. She also gave us some gift cards for a later return. Okay, that was nice, but mental note, don't go in as a large party. Instead, maybe if we all split up in smaller parties, we can enjoy our food together, then.

Ate here for lunch with my sis & my niece & nephew. Was supposed to be blackened chicken mac-and-cheese, but was more like a pasta with cream sauce & some cheese. Chicken was not impressive - even though it was diced/cut up, it was obvious nobody took the time to trim it properly. Don't you just hate it when you're chewing and you think 'what the hell is that?'.

The beer was really good, the place is new and clean. The floor was oddly slippery, not sure why.

Overall, I'd say it's worth a stop-in if you're in Battle Ground, but not worth a detour off the freeway if you're en-route to somewhere else.

We came in for lunch and were impressed by the size of the place. Total pub decor and pub food. The fish and chips were awesome, big pieces of cod? and cooked to perfection chips to accompany the lot. Oh, they make a killer bloody mary. Check it out!
