Two of us ate at the Laurelwood Pub on September 20, 2013. I had the house IPA, which was very good even in a region known for superior IPAs. My friend had a light ale which she found so-so. We both ordered the Reuben sandwiches. Her's came with a huge mountain of greasy tater tots and mine with a small cup of coleslaw. Neither sandwich had much meat between the over sized slabs of dark rye and I found no trace of sauerkraut. We came at a slow time of day, around 2:00, and the service was very good. Our waiter had the time and interest to spend a few extra minutes at our table discussing beer. The beer prices were in keeping with typical pub pricing, but the food was overpriced. I would recommend coming to the Laurelwood Pub for their brews, but plan on eating elsewhere.

Other than the beer I do not think the food is worthy of the price. The group I was with thought the Portland restaurants served better food. The summer beer was good however.

I find that Laurelwood has great beer and somewhat overpriced but quality food. The Battle Ground pub is located in a relatively new shopping area that has overall sputtered. Most of the stores are up for lease/sale, however Laurelwood doesn't seem to lack customers. Their beer is the highlight for me.

There food is certainly not bad, but really a bit pricey for what you get. Though I have never left hungry, their entrees are just that with a side. No soup or salad and again pricey. This Battle Ground brewpub is still a gem though. It's certainly worth a try at least once.

We arrived right at opening. No one else was waiting at all and we had a party of 7 with us. We were seated right away, then 4 other parties showed up. Two parties of 2 and two parties of 4. Our order was taken first after some lengthy wait for our waitress to return after our drink orders. Food was taken out to all the other guests while we continued to wait for ours. As we watched the other guests begin to complete their meals, we still continued to wait for ours to be delivered. We asked the waitress why ours was taking so long since we were seeing that the others got delivered well before ours and that the other people are completing their meals. Her answer was simply, "we have a large party and the smaller parties were prepared first." Really? One, that is not a very good answer to give to your guests, and two, so what about the size of our party. You don't leave all of us sitting until the other guests are nearly complete with their meals. The manager did try to make it right by cutting a percentage off of our bill as well as offer free desserts. She also gave us some gift cards for a later return. Okay, that was nice, but mental note, don't go in as a large party. Instead, maybe if we all split up in smaller parties, we can enjoy our food together, then.
