“Lots to do.”
Reviewed 16 July 2013

This is a big park and it was hard to find the canoe part. We did find it under the bridge to Mercer island. The kids hired a canoe and went around lake Washington and along the river that runs through the park. We had a good time here and it is very scenic.

“Great walking trails”
Reviewed 13 December 2012

There are great walking trails that take you through forested areas and then across bogs and the slough, lots of birds and wildlife to see.

“wild slice of life near town”
Reviewed 8 November 2012

This is long wildlife preserve. A bit hard to find your way around in or to find entrances to but worth the time to see unspoiled slough areas. A variety of activities can be found here from running, walking, exploring with kids or canoeing.

“Relaxing nature paths”
Reviewed 5 November 2012

In south Bellevue, in startling serenity between I-90 and I-405 visitors find well-tended paths for hiking and jogging that surround one of Bellevue's finest blueberry bogs. Kayaks and canoes travel the waterways created when the Mountlake cut connecting Lake Union and Lake Washington lowered the water levels. Park at the Bellevue South park 'n ride or better yet just north of that at the Winters' House historical museum which houses some fine memories of Bellevue's beginning (at least in settlement terms) following the civil war. There is a farmer's market just to the north of the Winters' House with fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables and some flowers; you can also pick your own blueberries in season (usually June through September).

“Urban Getaway”
Reviewed 3 November 2012

It is a great walk across boardwalks and raised soil paths through a wetland. Gets a bit soggy but always an enjoyable getaway from the city hussle and bussle. 5 min to being surrounded by nature.
