I Took my wife out for a late dinner on our wedding day. We were not looking for anything special just some food and a drink (we already had the reception earlier during the day). This corner pub in a cellar proved to be just what we where looking for.
Genuine pub feeling, small booths to sit in, good for two to three people. Service was good, nothing out of the ordinary. The place was busy on a saturday when we got there at 8 pm, but not crowded and did not feel cramped.
We got the drinks quickly and the food within good time. The food was great. We both got a burger and it was all you can expect from a burger at a pub and more. Good sized portion, slightly more then me and the wife could handle as we are both on the small size. If you are on the larger size or really like to eat you might want to get a starter also (after all, thats what they are there for right?). I can whole heartily recommend the Apple Bacon Burger.

As my wife isn't a big beer drinker and i don't drink it at all i leave the drink review for someone else. The draft beer list was about a page long and the whiskey/spirits the same. They also had a large selection of beer on tap.

If it was not for the 40 minute drive this is definitely a place i would come back to. If you just want a quick drink or some food, this is a good place to get it.

Friends took us to Archer Ale otherwise we would never have ventured down the steep concrete stairs to this below the sidewalk pub. The atmosphere of walking down and coming into this establishment is a treat. We were there for a late lunch and the place was quiet and welcoming. We had to wander around looking for anyone. Other diners or drinkers arrived while we were there.

The menu was very unique, from mussel, sliders to truffle macaroni and cheese. Was hard to decide what would be the best. Friends liked their mussels and scallops, the plate was very appealing. They said they were delicious. My macaroni and cheese was delicious.

I don't drink beer so could only appreciate all the beer signs and pub atmosphere. The prices are a bit high, but then, perhaps Bellingham is getting pricey. We especially like the only server in the place, Tiffany. She was very helpful and personable.

Whenever we are in the area we like to drop by this pub and have a nice cold one or two. It is very cozy and has a traditional pub decor.

The beer and whisky we ordered were great but the food was so bland and "meh". We ordered the $15 crab cakes and got a very pretty presentation of a some beet greens, couple slices of roasted beets and 2 very small looks-like-pre-frozen crab cakes that tasted like they were heated in the microwave.
They grind their own locally sourced beef and make their own bread for burgers...so one of us ordered the bacon cheddar burger looking forward to the gourmet burger experience. Unfortunately it wasn't worthy of coming back since both the bun and meat were bland as well as the soggy baked potato wedges.. I had the Reuben which was probably the best dish out of the three since the kraut and meat were pretty good.
What we took away from this experience is that there menu seems overpriced for such bland food. We like that everything is locally sourced but it's such a shame that the flavor was lacking.

We read the reviews and decided to give this place a try because it was close to our hotel and still open for food at 10pm. Lots of different beers and ales to try, unfortunately, the one I ordered was supposedly not available, sadly they found one which was very flat and acrid, and had sediment stuck on the side of the bottle, not a good sign for an ale. Having had this ale previously in Belgium, it did not taste like this one, even though the waitress indicated the manager had tasted it and it was "supposed to taste like that". The beer my husband ordered was in the process of having the keg changed so he had to wait. When it finally arrived it was far from cold. We ordered an appetizer of crab bisque and the seasonal soup, a cream of butternut squash and leek. The crab bisque did not have one piece of crab in it, nor did it taste that crab had been anywhere near the pot. The seasonal soup was the best thing we tasted. I ordered the crab cakes and my husband ordered the lamb/elk burger WITHOUT cheese, and we were assured it was not at all gamey. The waitress came back to say there were no more crab cakes but suggested a more expensive scallop risotto, at this point we should have just said forget it and left..... but we didn't. The burger came out complete with cheese, then my risotto came out, 4 scallops on top of risotto with baby carrots so tough a knife could not cut through them, chunks of butternut squash, and a strange oil/balsamic vinegar dressing at either end of the oblong plate, I have eaten a lot of risotto but never with a balsamic dressing definitely not with other flavors other than the main flavor which was supposed to be scallops. However, the scallops were nicely cooked... but it was a cost of about $6 a scallop. After a wait of about 15 minutes another burger arrived, this time without the cheese, but the accompanying fried potatoes were dry and scorched and the meat was gamey. The waitress appeared to be the only one working our side of the place and perhaps that was part of the problem, but the food from the kitchen that night was just not appetizing nor tasty. Having read multiple reviews on TA of various restaurants in the area including this one, we concluded we should try this one because a lot of them indicated good food. The restaurant management tried to make it better by reducing the bill, but it was just not enough to make us want to go back there again.
