“Good atmosphere and good lunch all around”

we have been coming to Russel's for lunch almost 2-3 times a month and so far it has not disappointed us. Good burger, good salad and soup, not too big, just the right amount for the price we paid.

“Good Food with Good Friends”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

After a day of wine tasting, sitting down to dinner at Russell's was a wonderful finish. We all chose red wine friendly entrees (rack of lamb, beef), and paired it with a wonderful Alexandra Nicole Quarry Butte we had bought that day. The restaurant doesn't charge corkage on your first bottle if it is a Washington wine, which is a nice nod to the terrific wines produced in our state, We had great service, and a lovely dessert (molten chocolate cake, but with a more elegant name-it was wonderful!). The restaurant is housed in an old farm building, but is sadly surrounded by a huge corporate office park. The upside of that is few people and plentiful parking in the evening.

“An out of the way gem”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

we never knew about Russell's restaurant before and we would have never known or guessed that there was a restaurant like this in that area. We found the food very delightful, perfect portion sizes, amazing desserts and a decent wine menu that is reasonable in price. It is great to find a restaurant in WA that promotes WA wines at a fair price that makes them affordable to drink. Even though it is out of the way, we found this new restaurant a place we might likely visit again.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

I really wanted to like Russell's. The good TA reviews sucked me in. But the reality was that the food was bland and overcooked. Sorry Russell, for $140 for dinner for my wife and I I really need to be wowed to give you a better rating.

“Kind of Disappointed”
Reviewed 10 May 2014

This was my third meal at Russell's. The first 2 were outstanding, so I was looking forward to my birthday dinnerwith my husband, sister, and bro-in-law. This was my sister's and her husbands first time to Russell's. I as hoping to show them that we do have good places to eat in our area, they're from the Kirkland/Bellevue area. The restaurant was packed on a Saturday night for our 7:15 res. Positives about our meal were outstanding bread and crab cakes, and great service for second half of meal (after complaining).
Negatives were:
1. After our drink order was taken, it took forever to get our drinks (about 15 minutes).
2. Our salads came before our appetizer. We felt ignored, then rushed. When you're spending that kind of money on a meal, you want to enjoy each corse. We politely complained and asked them to slow down the food, and our service did improve.
3. We all ordered the New York steaks. One rare, one med., and 2 well. They all came out the same doneness. For $38 per steak (salad not included), Russell's need to make sure they have someone cooking their steaks who knows what they are doing. We tried to trade steaks among the 4 of us to get close to what we ordered, but no one really got what they asked for.
4. Risotto was underdone and not tasty
5. I totally agree with other reviewers who complained about the noise, we could barely hear what the waitress was saying.
Each couple spent over $200 a piece, meal just wasn't worth it. We won't go back anytime soon, and they've lost fans who had previously been recommending them. Bummed
