Our Anthony's Bremerton experience was disappointing. The first negative was the hostess who simply pointed in the general direction of the table where our party was seated. Since we didn't know the people we were meeting, we didn't know where to go. She was rude and dismissive. The service - although nice and accommodating - was slow. It took a long time for anyone to approach us or take our order for drinks, then a long time to take our order for the food. We ordered Salmon, Halibut, steak, crab salads and chowder. The chowder was excellent and the salmon was cooked just about right (but salty). The big disappointment was the Halibut. Our guests were from North Carolina and they were really looking forward to Halibut but it was so overcooked that it was like eating dry canned tuna. Fish should never be cooked into a dry brick. As for the steak, that one's on us -- we should know not to order steak at a seafood restaurant. Tough and cold.

We stayed near the ferry so a short walk for a beautiful restaurant with great views. Absolutely jammed monday and tuesday early evening but first night we got a great booth; great server; and copper river salmon. Pricey but delicious. Also delicious Irish cream chocolate mousse. Second night we decided on appies at the bar. Happy hour is a fab deal except for all the naval contractors flashing their badges as they bellied up to the bar--as my son used to say: "dad; think Opsec "
Happy hour drink and food prices make this a great bargain and the server was just as sweet as if we were big spenders. Oh, and the rhubarb slump is world class. It's a chain but a good one.

Anthony's is a consistent chain of restaurants that seem to have good food quality. This particular location was difficult just to find the front door ... they need better signage to invite guests into the restaurant. We went on a late Fri night and were served by the bartender ... she had so much to cover that service was expectedly slow, but not intolerable. Food was good, and we wish they had the same menu items offered at the airport location. We were celebrating a birthday but no recognition beyond "Happy Birthday" so that was disappointing.

We ate lunch and dinner on separate days and found Anthony's to be excellent. The menu had a lot of selections, concentrating of course on seafood; the wait staff were very friendly and offered excellent suggestions; and the view of Stewart Inlet were terrific. Medium-priced (from at least a California perspective) but well worth it. Try the raspberry pie ala mode for dessert if you still have room!

Good food, the sunset dinner menu is a good value. Staff is aways good. A solid place to eat when you need something a little upscale in downtown Bremerton
